I had a wonderful experience with Righteous Van Lines. They moved me from Texas to Florida, and I've had no issues. All charges were clearly outlined in the contract (which I saw when speaking with a representative, and the contract was explained again in person by Alex on moving day). They were fair, professional, and quick.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Admin, this company isn't even allowed to operate (research as of 5/28/16; safer.fmcsa.dot.gov).They delayed their arrivals several times! The jacked up the price and changed the contract when they arrive. Check Google... There are some bad bad bad reviews and a lot of sketchy stuff going on!Supposedly, they store your stuff in a warehouse that may or may not be warehouse that may or may not be managed by their family members. Initial quote: $1400+/-... Their quote before we kicked them out: $2500-$3000... FOR A ONE BEDROOM APARTMENT!!??

I really wanted to like these guys, particularly as I appreciated their slogan, but this move was a genuine nightmare. We got them through a moving brokering company (Savannah Van Lines - pretty bad experience also) and it was a disaster from the beginning. They did not contact us about the move until the day of the move. They get here on the last day that was on the contract and at 8PM at night, which is tough for families with a young baby. When he gets here, he was not "unfriendly" per se, but definitely not great with communication - which would have been helpful as this was our first time using movers. He immediately goes through the paperwork, does a walk through and then gives us a quote that was around $500-600 more expensive than what the original estimate was. When we expressed concern, he said that the estimates are generally wrong and we will know the final price once the truck was weighed, which is fine. When we looked through the paperwork, we saw a charge for $114 or so for "shrink wrapping." He didn't even tell us about it, just reassured us that we would appreciate it when we saw it. He then brings out his helpers, who turn out to be 3 children. Not professional movers. They must've been 15 or 16 but they were definitely strong looking kids so I thought, OK. Maybe this is just a family business. So the rest of the packing process was pretty uneventful. He was supposed to send us an email with the actual invoice the next day and we did not get it. When I called him three days later, he said that he sent it to my wife (we scoured her inbox, trash, spam, everything - no email) but would resend it to me that day. When I received it, WOW! An additional $1000 above the estimated price! We were flabbergasted but he insisted that our weight was that high. We had no choice but to pay...I mean, they had all of our stuff. Anyway, this is when things got bad. I guess he hired another company to drive our belongings out (I was getting confused with all the different companies at this point). The actual driver called us one day before the designated drop off day and said that he was there. We were not happy about this because it was 1 day earlier than what was stipulated on our contracts for the "earliest move-in-date," and we hadn't even flown out there yet! When my wife called Righteous, he told her that this was the date we had said and because we were making his shipments late, we'd have to pay an additional $800 dollars. When she disputed this, he starting arguing with her. He was very rude to the point where she got so frustrated that she started crying. When I heard, I was not happy about that and told him to deal with me from that point on. He told me that he found a storage facility and was just going to drop off our stuff there and we'd have to pay for it. Because I did not know anything about this facility and I honestly did not trust him very much at this point, I told him I would find a storage facility myself. I didn't even care about the cost, I just wanted this entire debacle to end. He then gets very upset and asks "why are you making life difficult for me?" and gets into a shouting match with me. He calls my wife disrespectful, berates us for our house not closing on time (as if I had any say in that!), and blames us for making him lose money by putting up his driver for the night. At the end of it, he says "I'm done with you" and actually hangs up on me. Which was too bad because I didn't even have the chance to tell him that he was breaching the details of our contract. Thankfully, the driver (who was part of another company) agreed with us that his dealings with Righteous were shady and he offered to drop our stuff off at a storage facility that we both agreed to. He was a real stand-up guy. He also told us that his company would no longer be dealing with Righteous because of their unprofessional behavior. Long story short, we are very glad to be over this whole thing now. This was probably the worst move that we could have imagined and we really regret going with this company. Sorry for this being long winded but I hope it'll help you when choosing movers in the future

The company name "Righteous" is just the opposite of my experience with them.  I will use the terms, "bait and switch" and a lack of respect for it's customers. In February of 2014,  I had multiple in home estimates for moving services conducted by several moving companies including Righteous Van Lines, based in Dallas, TX.  The Estimator, Michael, came to my home and claimed to be the Owner.  He provided me with an estimate that was well below the other estimates I received.  Since the estimate was the lowest, I paid a 10% deposit and planned to use them to move from Texas to California after my house sold.My house did not go up for sale until June and it took until the middle of October to receive an offer. After I received an offer, I contacted Donna at RVL to discuss specific moving timeframes and arrangements. Donna told me that Michael was not the Owner and was no longer with the company. She further told me that since it had been 6 months since the original estimate, they wanted to inventory the house again. I agreed as there was no change in inventory as to what was moving. I was unemployed. It was not logical or financially possible for me to buy additional property during the six month period. In fact, I was selling large furniture that was not going to move.RVL sent another estimator who I think was Alex, the Owner, but I am not sure. He provided me a revised estimate (using Michael's e-mail address). The revised estimate tripled in price and calculated my inventory to be significantly above the highest estimate I received from other companies. I provided Donna specific company comparisions of my inventory but RVL refused to stand by the original inventory and price. Donna said they would only move the amount of inventory from the first estimate at the price offered. I again told Donna repeatedly there was no change in my inventory, and that THEY conducted both in-home estimates, not me.I informed Donna that I would not use RVL and requested a refund of my deposit due to their change in estimates conducted by their own staff. Since that time, there has been multiple e-mail and telephone contact attempts to obtain a refund since services were not rendered.  Most of my communication has been with Donna, although she is not a decision maker. She previously told me that approval is with the Owner Alex. Alex did not responded to multiple e-mail and telephone contact attempts. To not promptly refund a deposit for services not rendered is despicable.  I am taking additional actions to ensure authorities, banks and regulatory agencies are made aware of my experience with them.

"Beware" of this company guys. They are a fraud robbing company. I moved my complete 1 BHK stuff from Irving Texas to Jersey city , New Jersey. first of all they did not give me the correct estimate and raised the estimate upto apx 400 to 500 dollars. They took my stuff on 20th May and never called me back for 4-5 days and suddenly their driver called me and said that our truck cannot go uptil your house door since I live on a comparatively big road and told me to pay extra $ 370 which I agreed since I dont want to take any chances. The driver called me again and told me that he has to arrange a shuttle and assured me to deliver the stuff on friday. I took off from office but on the delivery day he dint pick up my phone and finally arrived on sunday afternoon. This is not all finally my stuff arrived on 1st June. When I checked one of my center table is broken, one of the four suitcases is missing, 3 glass tables tops broken out of 4. the delivery man told me that he knows where is the missing suitcase and that he by mistake sent it to San antonio but ll get it back by 10 working days. He assured me and also told me to pay the full amount in cash. I trusted him and did the full payment. After he was gone days passed and none of the representatives called me and gave me a satisfying reply. I continuously called them to help me out but they always falsely assured me that they ll get back and trying to get hold of the driver who delivered. the BEST PART of the company is that the suitcase which was robbed is the best looking and carried the most expensive stuff. with this I realised that they may have checked all my stuff before delivering it to me. After all the conflicts they told me to file a claim and interestingly they never explained me the insurance policy. they ll try to sign it real quick and thats the part where u loose all your stuff. Pls pls pls pls pls STAY AWAY FROM THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY GUYS.
