If I could give them 0 stars, I would. I called them because I was moving to another state. I was moving items from a small one bedroom apartment. My initial inventory included my queen size bed, dresser, nightstand, 10 boxes, small dining room and 4 stools, and my couch. I told him I lived on the second floor of my building. I was given a quote of just under $1000. I even called back and asked them if it there was any chance my fees would rise. The man I spoke to said it could if I had more furniture, more floors than specified, if the movers couldn't park directly in front of the building, or for packing materials. They claimed to email me my inventory list, but I never received it. Yes, I checked my junk/spam folder. So I told them to send it to my other email. Nothing. I told them to send it to my father's email. Nothing. Strange isn't it? The movers came and by the time everything was packed on the truck, I owed $1,514. I did have 5 extra boxes. But remember when I said I had a couch and dining room table? I sold those. Those 5 boxed could've taken up the space of the dining table alone. Plus, I even ended up putting one of my boxes in the back of my Jeep to drive back to my home state with. I used 3 of their boxes and some tape to repackage 2 boxes with loose items, and a box THEY dropped. They used packing material to wrap my bed and my mirror. That was only $134 of the extra charges. I'm not a professional mover, and this was my first move as an adult on my own. I had never packages a mirror or a mattress before. I'm sorry, but shouldn't these "experts" know well enough to ask me whether I can package those items myself, or if I need it done professionally? I was also given a fuel charge of $106 (shouldn't that have been included in the quote? They knew where I was moving, and it's not like the gas prices had sky rocketed since my quote), and $362 for my "extra items" and because I lived on the 2nd floor (even though he asked me initially and i told him). Everything was already on the truck, I was leaving to start my 19 hour drive the next morning, what was I supposed to do? I even called my quote agent but he was "out of the office." Maybe he was, but when he was in the office he had clearly left out a lot of information to the driver. So I moved back into my family's house, and took an extra couple weeks to have my stuff delivered since I had an extra $600 to budget for. When I was finally ready, I gave them a call on a Sunday and they said it could be delivered sometime between Wednesday of that week and Monday of the following week, and they would give me a call at least 24 hours before. Wednesday comes, and all the sudden I get a call in the middle of the day from my driver saying, "I'm one hour away." THAT was my notice. I had a meeting that evening, that would be difficult to cancel. But I was told that if I cancelled my delivery, the one I got a 1 hour notice instead of a 24 notice for, I would have to wait another week. So I had no choice but to cancel the meeting and have my things delivered. During the process, all my furniture was chipped or scratched. These guys were not careful at all. Even the guys who picked it up where much more careful than them. Then I noticed some confusion after most of the stuff was taken off the truck. My dresser mirror was missing. He told me he would check the warehouse and give me a call. I never got one. I kept calling Proud American about it and would get a "uhh...ummm...let me check" every time. I'm pretty sure based on that, that no one was even looking. I decided to file a complaint. They told me I would have to call a separate claims company. 6 months later, I'm finally being told I will be given $128 for my missing/damaged items, and for my overcharge I have to deal with Proud American directly. By the way, I called the store where I purchased the mirror, it was worth $171. I am sorry for writing a book, but I wanted to make sure Proud American never treats anyone like this again. I'm sure you could hear my frustration in this review, but I'm not a complicated person. I'm easy to please. I've worked in retail, so having been on the other side of the disgruntled customer, I learned during that time how to treat regular hard working people who are just serving you to so they can put food not he table and pay their bills. I say this so you understand I'm definitely not the person who yells at people a store because they can't give them what they want where when and how. But this situation was ridiculous. Do yourself a favor, if you would like to keep your furniture as it is, and would like to avoid stress, DON'T work with these people. Trust me, you'll regret it.

My review is exactly like Meg's review.  They doubled the price once they had our stuff, from 1700 to 3300.  They showed up late - and almost made me miss a flight. Their lateness in turn caused me to have a friend supervise their pick up of my items.  Since I was not there, I could not give them payment (again, they were two days late).  They then charged us 56 dollars more because they had to process the payment by phone.  We called and called and called for 2 and a half weeks, only to get voice mails and a run around. We still don't know when our stuff will come and it has been 20 days.  We are living out of two suitcases and we have a toddler.  These people have no scruples what so ever.  The "customer service manager," only managed to dodge my calls and produce lies.  Her name is Roni.  Do not use this company!!!! I have since read many a nightmarish story like my own via online reviews.

My review follows suite with Meg's and NAdia's reviews. Horrible company. Scam. They screened my number and wouldn't answer. So then I would call from a different number and they would answer and quickly transfer me to an answering machine. They overcharged us once they had our stuff and wouldn't deliver unless we paid the amount. It is a crime! Please stay away.
