Run... Run like the Wind away from this shady business!!!Note of caution to potential customers: I made the mistake of selecting this unreliable moving company before reading any reviews. So that has come back to bite me in the butt. After reading the other reviews about this company,  I was going to give them the benefit of a doubt and allow them to prove their merit. But after waiting for movers for hours, only to have their rep call later in the afternoon, to offer a reschedule or refund; I decided to reschedule the move.Big mistake!! I should have taken the refund. Why, you might ask? I say that  because today, after waiting over 5 hours, they still haven't fulfilled their commitment. They were supposed to have delivered by 5pm, and it is now, 5:45pm.This is not good, and what really sucks is that the rep that I spoke to on today, knew that their team of movers would not make it on this afternoon, to fulfill their commitment.At this point in time, I am so incredibly upset. This company has caused me to waste half of my day waiting for them not to show up.Note to company: Either do what you promised to do, or just shut down. Dallas citizens do not need another dishonest company, like American Family Movers (dba Apt Movers).What you did really sucks!

By far the worst moving company in TexasDo not give them a PENNY. They will take your money. They hire amateurs for minimum wage who have no idea how to move furniture professionally. Things will get damaged and broken. They will smoke cigarettes around your belongings. They charge more than companies that are much better. Their customer service is the most pathetic excuse for support I've ever seen. Look at it this way, if you decide to go with them, I promise you'll be writing a negative review when your nightmare is over.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!  (See the other reports about the name changes!)  I experienced the WORST customer service I have ever experienced in my whole life!  I have been waiting TWO YEARS to settle my claim for the many damages that they made on my belongings.  All I want is reimbursement or the damages that they made! I have talked with 7 people over two years trying to get this settled and just now the manager hung on me!  DO NOT USE THEM!!!!  I will be calling the Better Business Bureau about this horrific ordeal!

Well rather than type a whole review I'll just send you the email we sent to them and never got a response to. Also, these guys go by The Apt Movers and by A1 Apartment Movers too. They probably have to change their name because they suck so badly.Pernel,I wasn't sure if you were aware or not but I ended up not tipping your movers. It is the 1st time in all my years that I have not tipped and I feel obligated to let you know why. I was quoted $397 but it sure would have been nice to know about all of the hidden fees on TOP of that. If I had known we certainly would have shopped around for other movers. The driver did not know how to calculate 120 feet, but told me there was a 30% charge since my apartment was more than 120 feet from the door.  He said 120 feet is 60 steps, so I counted and my apartment was not over 60 steps away.  When I asked him about it, he said it is 50 steps which was more than 120 feet.  Since I questioned it, he said he would only charge me 20%.  If I knew there was that kind of extra charge, I would not have gone with you guys.  When I moved in, the moving company had a similar policy, but they told me about it UP FRONT and when they got there, they said it was right at 120 feet.  So, I don't know how my apartment magically moved when your mover did not even know how far 120 feet is.  It's completely ridiculous. Also I wasn't informed beforehand that it was cash or card only. I had a check filled out ready to give him, but I was stuck paying a surprise 3% credit card fee.  I didn't even mention he showed up with the wrong quote and actually told me that we HAD to do the $500 quote and that we didn't have a choice since that was the paperwork you guys gave him.  I had to get out my laptop and show him the $397 quote from you to get him to believe me.  Then we had to go through the quote so he knew which items to take and which stayed, which was about 30 minutes worth of time.Now, about the actual move. We had large boxes, medium boxes and small boxes. The small boxes measure at about 12 inch by 12 inch.  I paid for 40 boxes.  They came in and grabbed all the little boxes.  When I realized this, I tried to get them to take the big boxes and leave the little ones, but he said they were already loaded at the front.  I was quoted for a 2-cushion couch and a 3-cushion couch. Well it was actually a 2-cushion couch and a love seat and ottoman.  Since I was overcharged for the size of the couches, I figured he would take the ottoman, but he said that would be extra.  He broke 4 bottles of wine and blamed us for not wrapping them right, but slamming down boxes that are clearly marked "FRAGILE" didn't help. Our dining room table & its leaves are covered in scratches that weren't there before. The paint is chipped off one of our dining chairs. They broke one of our dining room table set glasses that we got for our wedding. They gouged a hole in our entry way wall in our new house with the washer and dryer dolly. They took a chunk of wood out of the front of our dresser.  And we haven't even finished unpacking. Who knows what else is in store. To top it all off, as they were almost finished with moving everything into the new home, they came to me in a panic that they left my $200 TV stand and their dolly in the middle of the lobby on the first floor of my building back downtown.  They asked me to drive them back downtown in my car instead of getting in their truck and getting it themselves.  Since they still had stuff to unload and I just wanted them out of my home, I told them I would go get it and they could finish up.  I drove 20 minutes each way to get the two items, and gave them their dolly. I can't tell you how disappointed I am in choosing your company.  We ended up spending 25% more than your original quote, we were overcharged for items, and they did not take the items we wanted them to take.  Your movers were not careful with any of our items, and they left your equipment and my property in a lobby for anyone to take for at least 2  1/2 hours before notifying anyone.  We have many friends and family that live in Dallas and we will not be recommending you to anyone.
