We used Affordable Movers last weekend for a pretty large house move.  The guys were great-very friendly and easy to work with. They took great care of all our furniture-no damage whatsoever. We did have some issues with furniture not fitting (not at all the crews fault-actually ours for not measuring) and the guys did everything they could to get our furniture where we wanted it. We have a very large Body Solid multi station gym system that was very detailed to disassemble and reassemble. After a very long night, we agreed to have the guys come back a few nights later to reassemble the system as well as try again to get the elliptical machine down the two-tier basement steps. True to his word-Willie was back a few days later and did as promised. They even moved a few remaining items for us. Only concern was the time - we were quoted 10 hours and it should have been quoted closer to 15. (The move took 17). Again some of this was furniture not fitting and the gym disassembly. Overall-we were very pleased with Willie and his guys, and would recommend them as well as use them again in the future.

Stay away!  They ruined my couch and I have been trying to get the insurance money to pay for the damage for over 8 months!  They are NOT honest or trustworthy.  Reported them to the BBB, have called, emailed etc and they refuse to make it right!  Their insurance covers .60 per lb, out couch is 191 lbs.  which is a grand total of $114.60 and yet they refuse to respond to emails or phone calls. Run! Ru very far away from this moving company, they make all of theses promises and claims of being professional and trustworthy but a They ARE NOT!  Don't put yourself through the pain of dealing with such a company!  SCAM artists is what their company name should be.  I sure wish I had these reviews to read before I used them in July 2014!  What a huge mistake!They don't even deserve one star!

Chrissie came out and inspected our house and informed us that a 26-foot truck would be able to move down our South Philadelphia side street. She said 3 movers could do the job for an estimate of 897 dollars starting at 8:30 AM. At 6:00 AM the day of the move Chrissie texted us stating the movers would be late. We had blocked off the parking in front of our home so the truck could park. Chrissie delayed through out the day. Ultimately the moving crew arrived at 10:45 PM, over 14 hours late. The truck could not make it down the street because the block was full of cars at night after being mostly empty all day. We had settlement to sell the house at 8:00 AM the next morning. We were finally out the door at around 5:30 AM. The crew was still unloading at the new house when I had to leave my wife in charge in order to go to settlement. The bill came to over 1200 (!) dollars but they finally relented to around 850. Hugely unprofessional. If the truck can't make it until late at night just let the customer know so they aren't on standby the whole day. Stay far away from Affordable Moving. I stand by what I posted before. I don't post under my real name, Tom Y is for Yelp reviews only.  We didn't call at the last minute, we arranged two weeks in advance. Everything had been arranged to avoid exactly what ended up happening. Delays happen, but 14 1/2 hours late is simply inexcusable.  Affordable Moving took advantage of us because they knew they could because our backs were up against the wall, timewise. If the details I've given aren't enough to identify me, then this is the norm rather than the exception for Affordable Moving. And that's sad.

We hired this group after our initial company declined our reservation just a few days before the move (despite having a reservation over one month in advance). These workers were expected to load all furniture and heavy/large boxes into two storage pods. First, the workers were not very professional in appearance. Secondly, they did not follow instructions to load the furniture first then the boxes. I was unable to keep up with each of them in the house while trying to pack things myself. As a result, there was still heavy furniture and boxes that we had to load on our own. Third, they had little regard for our home and nicked the walls causing small holes. Lastly, they were paid for 4 hours but left after 3 hours. There were still things that could have been moved from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor and from the basement up to the 1st floor.

These people ruined so much of my furniture cost me thousands to repair, broke so many things shampooer, family heirloom rocking chair, crystal, on an on, but the biggest was my kitchen table, which they promised to replace, it has been seven months and they will not return my phone calls.  Also quoted one price after Chrissie came to our home for the quote when delivered the furniture it was 1500 more. Scam artists, dishonest, company stay away. Willie can't be trusted or Chrissie, they say what goes around. Comes around.
