I was a little hesitant about this moving company based on the reviews I read on Yelp, especially the fact that others said the movers did not come on time and that they damaged furniture.  I did not have any problems at all, I was very pleased with the moving services.  The movers arrived exactly on time to my apartment (they came at 3pm on the dot).  After arriving, they wrapped all the bulky furniture and quickly moved everything into the truck.  The unloading process was just as smooth.  I looked into other moving companies after reading the not so great reviews on yelp.  Other companies charged almost double the prices as Star City.  Thus, I am very pleased with the rate they charged me and the service I was provided.  I would definitely use them again!  I was a little concerned when 10 minutes before 3pm I had not heard from them.  I called the foreman to get an update and he told me the movers were on their way - so i had nothing to be concerned about at all!

WARNING: if you contract StarCity for your move, there is a very real chance they will breach contract, last minute, with no warning.  They'll even go as far as lying to you that movers are on they way, costing you valuable time to find competent movers.Here's my experience.  I contacted StarCity two weeks before my move and signed a "binding legal agreement" stating all the details of the move, including time, price, what was to moved and to where.  I ordered a certified check from my bank, made out to StarCity and everything was good to go.A few days before the move, they call and ask if I'd consider changing my move in date from a Friday to a Saturday to a Sunday.  I explained to them that that change will not work for me, as the building I was moving to only allows move ins on Monday - Friday between 9am and 5pm.  On top of this, I had already paid a nonrefundable $200 deposit for reserving the service elevator in my building.  Upon hearing this, StarCity assured me that all was fine and they'd see me on my original scheduled day.  The evening before the move, I get a call to confirm the Friday morning move and to again pitch a switch to weekend. Again, I declined the weekend switch and they confirm for Friday morning.Friday morning rolls around and when it's an hour past the scheduled arrival time, I call the StarCity and am assured the truck is on the way.  "Fifteen minutes," is what I'm told, "don't worry."  I call back after another hour and after laying into the guy on the phone for a bit I am told that, "the truck is broken down on the side of the highway." Intuition would tell you this is a lie, considering the two attempts to reschedule this moving slot. I talked to them some more and they assured me they would work with me to get another truck to me as soon as it had finished another job that was not too far from my location.  They said the eta for the other truck would be no more than an hour and promised to call as soon as they had an update.  I NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN.This company offers a special combination of incompetence, dishonesty, and zero integrity.  They are unethical dirt bags who will ruin your move and cost you money. What they do should be illegal.  It is my only wish that their business fails and they go bankrupt. Fuck StarCity Moving.DO NOT RISK HIRING THESE INCOMPETENT, DISHONEST PIECES OF CRAP! YOU WILL BE TAKING A BIG RISK IF YOU DO!

My move was completed last Monday.  My bed is missing 4 screws, most of my furniture has sustained some damage, my daughters bicycle is damaged, and my TV is missing.  The tv was apparently delivered to Philadelphia (I have serious doubts if it is true).  I was supposed to get the tv back today.  For the last two hours we have been calling the person I was dealing with, but he is now refusing to take our calls.   We're now contemplating filing a police report and a complaint with the BBB. Avoid this company like the plague.

Stay away!  Stay far, far away from this moving company.  This is the WORST experience I have had in my life with a moving company.  My husband and I signed a contract with Kerry Cox from Star City Moving and the day of the move they NEVER showed up.  The day of the move we were getting nervous because they were late so we started calling them.  It took two hours for someone to answer our call.  When we finally got a hold of them, they told us they had gone out of business so they were not going to honor the contract.  I wish I had read the Yelp reviews before contacting these movers.  They are infamous for pulling these stunts.  They lied to us because they never went out of business.

Come on I got to give this place a star?!?   In highest respect to humanity STAY AWAY from star city movers.  The name Steven Lasher is also a name NEVER to do business with.  I attempted to sue this horrible "company" but was told by attorney generals office of NJ the went out of business. They broke my stuff, baldly damaged walls and did not complete the job also lost screws to put my bed back together.   STAY AWAY. STAY AWAY!  STAY AWAY!!!
