One of the worst experiences of my life was dealing with this company. We were moving from Boston to San Francisco and contracted Rockland movers to move our stuff. They promised us 14 to 21 days (specifically NOT business days). Came to pick our stuff on July 5th, 2012 on time as promised. When I was talking to their agent- I wanted to get the insurance for the move but the sales person assured me that is just extra money and they have never lost stuff PLUS, every move comes with some basic coverage. My first mistake was to agree to him. When they came to pick our stuff, I realized that the insurance just covered 60 cents for a pound of lost/broken stuff. I wanted to get extra insurance but the driver said was too late or would have to cancel the pick up. Also assured me that the stuff never gets lost. FIRST MISTAKEWhatever estimate that the estimator had given us, the driver said that our stuff was more and demanded double the money. This was after he had loaded my stuff in his truck. I had no choice but to agree. SECOND MISTAKEAnyways, I convinced my self that for few extra bucks was at least getting a good service. The anticipated date of arrival was around July 15-20. When I had not heard from them I called them. The main office punted me to a lady called Gale. She is THE  most obnoxious, rude person I have come across in my life. She is a part owner so there is no one to complain about her too. Every time we called she said she did not know when our stuff would come and shouted at us for calling too often and would keep the phone down. Nobody else in the company would help, the booking agent never answered any emails or returned any calls. Initially she kept saying that the contract said 14 to 21 business days and not regular days (contrary to the contract we had). Finally when it was more than 30 business days and we still did not have our stuff we went to a lawyer and sent her a letter. After that whenever we called she would tell us that our stuff is in transit and the truck had broken down in Texas or OK or CO. Finally after around 2 months (on sep 1)  we got our stuff.  The driver wanted the remaining payment before he opened the truck. We were so happy to get our stuff that we paid him the amount left. To our amazement- one third of our shipment was MISSING and most of our packing seemed to have been opened. What was missing were the electronics- LCD TV, Desktop computer, expensive speakers, bicycle  and many more electronics. We called them up and they basically said - SORRY its lost. Get 60 cents per pound of lost stuff. I asked them to at least file a police complain as a substantial chunk of our stuff was missing and only the expensive electronics and we fear that an employee may have stolen the stuff. They said no- they would not do it and we would have to come to NJ to file a complain. I suspect that they knew that I did not get the extra insurance went through my stuff and took the goods that could be easily sold in a flea market or on eBay.It has been one of the most traumatic experience of my life dealing with Rockland MM movers. DO NOT HIRE THEM TO MOVE!!- They are not BBB accredited- Call protectyourmove.gov to see how many complains have been filed against them-Always get an guaranteed date and INSURANCE

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! It wasn't just one thing that went wrong, it was everything...In my 37 years of purchasing product & services, this takes the cake for the worst experience I have ever had. They guaranteed a delivery date and then missed it by 10 days. They left a pallet of furniture in their warehouse which arrived weeks later They lost a piece of my furniture and broke the frame of my couch. And they 'outsourced' my job twice (neither time their company delivered...in one case it was on a Ryder truck. And the furniture came the 2nd time just with a driver. So even though I paid $2,800 for what their contract said was loading and unloading, my boyfriend did it. And 3 separate times my parents drove 9 hours to help me unload when I was told my furniture would deliver and it never showed each occasion and no one bothered to call me to tell me in advance (or at all). I got no calls after the responsive sale person (who made all kinds of promises) got my business. No apologies, no credits, no nothing. Trust me, this company is not legitimate

I hired New Times Moving to help with my move from Atlanta to New York City. It turns out they are the same company as Statewide Relocation. See my review of this scam of a company on their yelp page. But once in NYC my belongings were passed on to another company called Rockland Movers .also called MM movers. I think that they are the New York partners of StateWide Relocation also known as New Times Moving.I honestly didn't think this was possible to be worse than Statewide Relocation but ROCKLAND might be the worst company of all time. The woman in charge of disbatch was actually insane. Every conversation I had with her consisted of her screaming bits of english at me like 'WE COME TOMORROW!' or 'EARLY MORNING. BE WAITING'. She was constantly involved in multiple conversations while on the phone with me and I never got her full attention. She kept telling me she would call me back but NEVER ONCE did she actually call me. I had to call them over and over and over again to make sure that they had my belongings and were making plans to bring them to me. I found out that our stuff sat in their storage unit in New Jersey for over 5 days. When she finally confirmed that they would be delivering our things Tuesday morning I made plans for my roommate to be available for the delivery time. But guess what? They didnt show! For 2 days my roommate waited in our empty apartment for the movers. Every single thing that disbatch told me was a blatant lie. She said they would come early Wed morning. Then she said it would be more like 11 am. Then she changed it to afternoon. Then by 9 pm she said 'maybe' they can come tomorrow. It was the most frustrating experience of my life. When they finally arrived at 4 pm the next day we had missed the reservation for our freight elevator. We only had to reschedule like 4 times. and they were completely clueless. When I mentioned that they needed to put my desk back together they looked bewildered and spent an hour rebuilding it only they put it back together incorrectly, missing a piece and making it nearly impossible to open the drawers. I was also presented with a broken side table that they seemed to shrug off. Oh and then the cherry on top, they 'forgot' one item. MY BIG SCREEN TV. The movers assured me it was probably at the warehouse. And I assured them that it better be delivered to me the very next day. The mover promised me they would be at our apt the next morning with the TV. But guess what? No movers, no tv, no phone calls to tell us that they wouldn't be coming. I spent another 8 hours on the phone trying to find out what was happening and every phone call was another lie. "9 am on our way!, 12 pm we will be there we promise, 6 pm um we need money for gas from our boss? 9 pm  laughter and then hung up on me. I called back once more around 10 pm and listened to the movers pass the phone around and joke about how 'girl needs her tv? HA' before crazy disbatch lady took the phone and screamed 'ILL CALL YOU BACK'. Which of course, she never did. Friday afternoon, our TV finally arrived and I recieved another call from crazy disbatch lady who attempted to swindle me out of more money. She claimed I hadn't paid my deposit or shuttle fee. Which of course I had. Almost every single person I dealt with in this company lied to me, yelled at me, or attempted to swindle more money from me. It was an absolutely horrific experience that I wouldnt wish on my worst enemies.

Just like everyone else said, STAY AWAY from Rockland Movers/Rockland M&M Movers (or Rockland County Movers, if it is the same business, which I believe it is). I made a move around 2 years ago, maybe a little less. When the movers came, they all seemed like nice individuals. I told them that two of my items were paintings that were worth a respectable about. I asked them if I could get an insurance rider for my two painting worth a combined 6k (I worked all summer many many years ago because I was a huge fan of the artist). They told me that they would come the next day with the rider for me to sign, which they never did. I had to move temporaroily someplace else, so when I came back to where I planned to move into, I requested that my items be delivered to my new address. Once I looked through all the stuff, not only were a lot of valuable items missing, but so were both paintings. They claimed that Hurricane Sandy damages a lot of the items they had in storage, but none of the boxes they delivered me had any water damage whatsoever, and there is simply no way that water could destroy both paintings so bad that they would look no different than a pile of scrap wood (both paintings had very large/nice frames). They also told me that because I did not sign the rider (that they promised that would bring the next day), and because all their documentation regarding the move was "destroyed" during Hurricane Sandy (so I guess all their important documentations were stored in their main storage unit instead of their office... yeah right) they said there was nothing to do, but that they would "keep and eye out" for the paintings. Obviously, I never got a call from them again. Due to this situation, I am 99% sure that they knew the paintings were valuable, and after realizing that they never came with the rider (most likely purposefully), they just decided to abscond with my valuable paintings and take them for themselves. Since the documentation showing what was moved was "destroyed," they claimed no liability and acted like nothing was missing. I also noticed that my coin collection (which took over a decade to collect), and many other valuable items were missing. I am guessing that they stole over 10 grand of my stuff. I am going to go through everything possible means to get my items back that they stole. The only thing I have going for me is that I still have all the Certificates of Authenticity for my paintings, as well as the original purchase receipt, but the fact that they stole all these items from me, under the guise of a moving company, is beyond reprehensible. Whatever you do DO NOT, EVER EVER EVER, use Rockland Moving. They are thieves, plain and simple.
