My roommate and I moved this past summer and barely lifted a finger. We opted for the full moving service due to extremely busy schedules. Very helpful and cheerful movers. Urbie himself came out to move us. They were organized, labelled boxes correctly, and made moving less of a headache. Nothing broken and kept things clean. I was a bit worried about my large bed, but they wrapped and packed it with great care. Overall tremendous service and friendly movers, would definitely recommend and use them again!

Let's face it, moving is a hassle. I should know. I've moved 7 times in the past 5 years. So, when I once again signed a new lease I was excited about my new apartment, but dreading the move. I've used most of the major NYC moving companies and have almost always, in the end, been unimpressed and overcharged. When I came across Right Choice through giltcity, I prepared myself for another disappointment. But, I couldn't have been more wrong. Right Choice truly got it right. From beginning to end, they made the process smooth, easy and transparent. What they quoted is what I paid - for the first time a flat rate was really that flat. I wasn't stuck paying hundreds for boxes and moving supplies, or because the truck got "stuck in traffic" for an hour. And they will truly went the extra mile to make sure my move was done right. Example: when my sofa just narrowly wouldn't fit into my new building, the Super recommended calling the Couch Dr, who would, apparently, take my sofa apart and put it back together for some amount of money in the hundreds of dollars. But my mover - Urbie - wouldn't hear of it. Without my even asking, he went to the local hardware store, bought some tools and did it himself. One word: wow. When they say they'll take care of your move from 'A to Z' they truly mean it - they not only did all of the packing and unpacking, taking all of the boxes with them when they left, they also disassembled and reassembled all of my furniture, placed it exactly where I wanted it (even when I changed my mind a few times), and they even organized my closet! No detail was left unattended, no corners were cut when things got complicated, no complaints were made when things took much, much longer than expected...plus - and I really can't emphasize this enough - everyone on the team was a joy to work with; you won't find attitudes here. Put simply, Right Choice is the best of the best. From now on, they're the only company I'll use.

On November 29th, the movers showed up 6 hours late, and were rude when they did show up. They loaded half the truck, then refused to work, but also refused to pause their billing, and said they wanted to change the rate from hourly to fixed rate (ie. they wanted to more than double the amount they originally estimated). When I consistently refused, they eventually continued. The truck they brought was too small to fit my one-bedroom of stuff, even though they said it was the size for a whole house, and so I had to leave a lot of it and make two trips in a U-Haul with other movers the next day. They told me I had to sign the inventory sheet that night, before they delivered my stuff. They charged the rate for three men when they only had two movers. The next day they were 80 minutes late, then refused to bill to my credit card as previously agreed to. I told them I wanted to use credit and they said they would leave with my stuff if I didn't go get them an additional $942 in cash (in addition to what they already charged on my credit card). We called the police twice, and nobody came. They charged for the time for me to wait for the police, then to go get cash. They said they would refund if I gave them more cash than necessary. They "estimated" the hours to unload, at double the time it actually took, and refused to refund the excess cash. When I checked with the woman doing inventory, the truck had three layers of boxes left in the truck and she had already checked off all the boxes except for four boxes, without even looking at the numbers on the boxes, as at least 30 boxes were still on the truck and obstructed. She said she wanted to leave early, and so I told her not to leave until we found the remaining four boxes. She said she wouldn't but then left anyway. After unpacking, I discovered that a lot of my furniture had damage and several boxes were missing, including boxes containing designer handbags, electronics, and a Toshiba laptop box.

I hate writing bad reviews, but I believe it becomes necessary especially when I feel compelled to warn others against having the same horrible experience that I had.If I could give them negative stars, I would. My initial meeting, discussion and estimates with the owner sounded stellar. However, everything about their service, upon execution, was a complete utter disaster. Here are just a FEW of the problems I experienced when I hired this company:*Repeated late arrival for moving times.*Ignoring my calls when I called to follow up on their tardiness..*Manager misinformed employees of job estimate or what was needed to be done, which further delayed the job.*Packing and moving time took 3x as long then estimated, which almost resulted in fines from my new building.*Instead of professional moving staff, young, inexperienced and rude kids were hired for the job. I personally witnessed them drop my boxes, from the top of the truck, to the sidewalk.*Cracked flat screen TV, which they completely jilted me on for the insurance coverage.*Their idea of being eco-friendly was using dirty old beat up boxes, which I could have overlooked if it wasn't for the gigantic roach that came flying out of the used packing paper one evening & the multitude of other failures we had to deal with along the way. While packing some of my valuables using the "recycled" paper, I came across a few items from previous clients, one of which was a gold leafed fine china tea cup.*When I unpacked all remaining boxes, I realized what a horrible rush job the staff did. They piled items on top of one another without proper padding, breaking an industrial sewing machine and damaging some of my keepsake items. When it comes to moving your personal affects, there's a reason why you should go with a well established business and not a start up company run by a swindler. I would have paid triple what I paid Right Choice Relocation, to never have had to deal with service like this. PS - All moving companies were willing to honor & practically match any estimates I received from a competitor, as long as I could provide a copy of the contract estimate. I chose to work with Right choice in good faith, but in the end, was sadly disappointed in the service during my move, and their disrespect after I filed complaints and provided documentation of all consequential damages. Save yourself the headache and hire someone else.
