Please, please, please stay away from this company.   They change names and have a fake business address.  This company will take your money and Jack up the costs when they arrive.  They say they will accept check or money or money order.  Then demand cash. They also held my things ransomed and demanded and extra 500 dollars!  Depsite they fact they told me a 7 day delivery and then kept my stuff sitting in a truck without moving for 2 weeks.  They also damaged several things including my babies stroller and refused to replace anything unless I ship it to them in NY.   I would report this place to the BBB but they're on their 3rd name to escape reviews.

Worst company ever. Beware! They hire sub-1star moving companies to move your property which only accept cash or money wiring (sketchy!). They dont answer emails or voicemails regardless of the severity. Their address on their website is incorrect (i believe their real business address is in Queens at an address with 20+ other companies). Their staff are horrifically rude when a dispute is made. A moving van never came to my address and they are saying I cursed out the driver...how can that happen if they never showed up?! Avoid at ALL COSTS.

I still don't know why I dealt mostly with Movers Choice Van Lines when my initial quote/estimate and company I booked with was New Amsterdam Van Lines. Anyways, I was initially given an estimate and was told in order to lock the initial estimate I needed to book with them before I hung up. I don't know why that wasn't a red flag to begin with. Money talks, I guess for me. They seemed reasonably priced compared to other companies, but after this experience, will never let money speak on my behalf again. I was given a two day window of when they would come pick up my things for my cross country move to California from Virginia. I called the week before and the week they were supposed to come almost every other day. The operators told me the same thing: that they cannot get ahold of the driver.  The two day window was on a Thursday and Friday and I finally get a call on Friday around 1pm from someone from the company apologizing for a "mix-up." The driver was in North Carolina and wouldn't get to our place until 3-4 hours later. I get a call one hour later from the actual driver stating he was actually in South Carolina and wouldn't get to our place until 9pm! (Mind-you, I had to see my cousin coming in from New York just to visit me in the morning and had to shoot a wedding a few hours later for I'm a wedding videographer). I called them back around 9-10pm and he wouldn't pick up. He called me back and told me he's STILL in South Caroilna! Why would he not tell me this during the 8 hours I was waiting????He said he can get to my place around 5am. I set my alarm to wake up at 5am, extremely upset I would be so tired shooting a wedding all day on top of my plans with my cousin. I called him at 5am. No pickup. I fall back asleep. He calls me around 6am, tells me he can be at my place around 9am as he's finally in Virginia. Doesn't show up until 10am. My morning plans are ruined with my cousin. I had to unload most of my things down to save time so I can finish other errands I'm supposed to do (I had to clean the entire apartment and get ready for a flight the next Sunday morning). He finally arrives around 10am and takes his sweet time organizing a really messy truck to make room for my things. To make things worse, he came SOLO! You would expect at least 2 movers. We part ways. I call quite frequently the past 3 weeks to find out when they will arrive. I get the same thing the operators said prior to their initial arrival. They finally arrive on the 21st business days. In the contract 2000+ miles is 3-21 business days. Go figure. The movers arrive in an 18 wheeler and claim they cannot stay parked on that street so they would have to do some kind of shuttle service and charge an extra $200-$300, or to save themselves time and not have police supposedly come for them blocking traffic on our small street, they could just load everything onto the driveway. At this point in dealing with all the aforementioned headaches, I just wanted our things. So in probably less than 30 minutes, they drop off all our stuff and leave. Driver didn't even bother to ask if I wanted my $15 change back (which btw, demanded cash after telling me money order would be fine 3 days prior. I didn't have either money order or cash on hand when they arrived. I had to go to the bank before they started unloading which is stated on the contract, but to ONLY demand cash was so rude.) They probably are used to saying a lot of things to get out of having to load into our apartment so basically for BOTH arrival in Virginia and California, I had to carry most of our things when they promise full loading and unloading. They also owe me $50 since I changed plans to stop by our storage. An additional stop costs $50 for them, but of course, no one followed up with me on this. I actually lucked out with this company considering all the other horrible things that happened to the other reviewers. The subcontractors they hire are the worst. And this company is just the worst customer service I've ever experienced.

I too had this same experience.  Touted A plus rating and moving day comes.  No one shows up they came the next day with 1 guy on a rented truck to move a 3 bedroom house.  Finally, after 2 hours at my request they send more help. Driver assures me that it will be delivered within 7 days. I call today to check the status and no one can tell me where my stuff is.  I finally located it via a few web searches and its still sitting in original place and the owner of a F rated BBB business tells me it could be a month before I get my stuff!  Also, this F rated BBB moving company I was contracted out too has changed names 3 times in 5 years to escape their BBB ratings!  In afraid I'll never get my things from them.  They've already jacked up price by 1000 because of special packing and crating??  And they have tons of negative reviews and un answered claims.

If there was a minus zero rating I would give that. Worse moving experience!! Movers choice subcontracted my move with a company called Ultimate Movers. This 2- man crew arrived 4 hours after scheduled pick up. They arrived with a different contract and not temhe agreed upon contract which Movers agreed upon with me. I called Movers a gizzilion times amd emailed Tony and Mike ( managers) no response. The movers stole money from my purse during the move. The weight went from the agreed upon estimate of 2790 lbs at pick up to 20000 lbs at drop off- what did they pick up a baby elephant from my house!  I had to pay 2.5 times more than the orignal amount ($1500 to $3900 not including the $430 that was stolen during the move plus the $600 tea table which was not unloaded)  We  didn't notice during the move-because during unloading the movers used a different genenric inventory they had made up. We were robbed in every way possible. When confronted the.mover became aggressive toward us. This was a scary situation. We had to involve the police.  DON'T EVER USE! Movers Choice did nothing to remedy this situation- Mike Anderson, manager treated us as though we were the criminals. Please again for your own safety DO NOT USE!!
