The moving industry has a tendency to focus on the physical aspect of the work and neglect the customer. The direct result is that, as a society, we consider the process of moving stressful and difficult. Metropolitan Movers was established in 2010 as a moving brokerage company with the aim of introducing customer focus to the moving industry. By acting as the middle person between the customers and the movers, we obtained the ability to customize the provided service to the needs of each customer, consequently reducing the stress and increasing the satisfaction they experience.

 Winning the consumer choice award in 2012 motivated us even more to provide the best possible moving experience. We decided that the best way to ensure customer satisfaction is to have full control of the quality of the service providers. In 2013 we established a franchise system to accommodate this decision, and has since won the Top Choice award for the second year in a row. All of the franchisees in our constantly expanding franchise network receive training and guidance to ensure the best quality of work and customer service in the industry.

Do NOT book these guys! They showed up 1 hour and 45 mins later. I kept calling to see what was going on and the service coordinator basically said she would call me back in 5 mins...she never did and then she lied to me saying they were a few blocks away which again was a lie. They dont cover your bed in plastic wrap to prevent bedbugs instead they place it on a blanket thats dirty and now my mattress is dirty. They dont have a dolly with the back to it. A service delivery guy came with a dolly and left it in the lobby and these guys started using his dolly. Its like okay arent you guys professional movers??? You should have equipment! These guys were hard workers but they weren't very professional. They were young guys and I dont think they are trained. They were following my car to the new location and on the way they asked if they could stop so they could grab something to eat. I felt bad so I said fine. Then as we continued they called asking if we could quickly stop so they could buy ciggerates at the store. Your on the clock buddy...do it on your own time! They didnt have directions to come to my place which is why they followed me and then they got seperated so then they called to find out the rest of the directions because their phone died. You should have directions ready w/o asking me for it! The move was fine but now I found broken furniture. 2 of my peices have damage to it and I didnt discover it until after they left. To make matters worse I had been in touch with the service coordinator the day, I specifically asked if they accept credit card. She said yes but they prefer cash. I told her since I dont know how long it would really take if I could provide them with a personal check written out as cash. She said SURE that would be fine. As soon as these guys were done they called their boss to find out the price, they tried to overcharge me but I fought them on that. Then they said they cant accept a check and that I would need to go to ATM if I didnt have cash. I was told the service coordinator is not the boss and he was...well get your S*** together then and rely this to your service coordinators since they are the one dealing with customers. When I provided them with cash I asked for a recepit and they couldnt give me one. What kind of business are you running? It wasn't the movers fault and they apologized on behalf of their boss saying they understand my concern for a recepit. They also promised they would provide me with free boxes a few days before the move...needless to say I never received it. I'll be in contact with the company about the damage and the receipt and I am def going to be in touch with the BBB.
