This one is based on the huge demand on Yelp for Moving companies at affordable prices. They have expertise handling high end, very fragile furniture, and they perform full inside delivery services, white glove and even turn key (installation), in case that you dont want to deal with the assembly of your newest cabinet or armorie.A conversation with Dominic Vincent (master of ceremonies of J.V Transport) would fall along these lines:D.V: "Hello?"You: "Hi, Im interested in getting a quote for moving?"D.V: "Sure, where are you moving?"You: "Im moving from the East Village to Yonkers"D.V: "Yonkers? Are you sure about that?"You: "Uhh, why?"D.V: "For one, the Son of Sam lived in Yonkers; why dont you think it over, and then call me, okay?You: "Eeerr...ok.Bye"(1 month later)D.V: "Hello?"You: "Hi, Im interested in getting a quote for moving?"D.V: "Oh, yeah, I remember you; go ahead"You: "Yes...well, Im moving from the East Village to Englewood, New Jersey and this other movers I was talking to...."D.V: "How much they're charging you?"You: "Eeer... how much do you charge"D.V: "I'll charge you $325"You: "I havent even told you how many pieces I'll be moving"D.V: "You live in the Village? I gotcha"You: "Well...its still expensive; Im an starving artist and..."D.V: "$250, How about that?"You: "I dunno.... I have to buy my stencils, and...."D.V: "$125 Deal?"You: "Okay. Deal"And the delivery, I might add, is taking place on a Sunday.Short notice, weekends, rate rebuttals, and excellent attitude is what you can expect (please disregard the above conversation; Dominic would NEVER act in such a way) Only one thing takes a star off my rating; one of the chief movers (named Joe), seems always to be a in a grumpy mode; so be patient or call D.V.Four excellent ratings.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! They Had my tv for a week I was trying to track it down was told to call this company they never even notified me or attempted to set up a delivery date. I had to call 5 times in one day before someone finally set up a date and time for the delivery. Was promised I'd get it before Christmas and what do you know a week and a half after Christmas I still didn't have my tv. Date and time for delivery scheduled the guys calls me two hour early saying they are in the area too bad I wasn't home. Date and time set for a reason. Then I call 6 hours later to find out they brought my tv back to the warehouse and weren't delivering it in the time window we agreed upon (were they going to tell me ???) because they already attempted to deliver it two hours earlier then the original time that was scheduled. How is this my problem? Why am I being inconvenienced. Why set up a date and time if you aren't going to deliver in the set window? Then I had to drive all the way to Elizabeth to retrieve my tv because I was so angry I did not want to deal with these ppl anymore or schedule another day to sit and wait around for hours and hours like an idiot because they had no intentions on telling me they weren't delivering my tv. Unbelievable. Idk how they are in business.

Shipping charges were around $120 for them to attempt to deliver once and then just leave when people were actually home. Finally rescheduled a delivery date and when he drops off the item acting not very professional tells me its not an indoor drop off and leaves a 180 pound box in the driveway for myself to figure out how to get indoors. I understand that it was not an indoor delivery but he could've atleast been more professional or courteous, maybe even left it a little closer to the house. The furniture also while sitting in the driveway was still on a pallet with plastic wrap, my garbage men will not take that, so I want to thank you for leaving that. Only good thing about the pallet is it will be my next project. Totally not worth the shipping rate!

This company will 'attempt' to deliver furniture to your house if you order from hayneedle.com/Universal Furniture and presumably other companies if your house is in the NJ/NY area.  I say attempt because I'm not convinced their employees are able to even so much as read their own computer monitors, take notes or apply common sense.  Twice now they have given me an incorrect delivery date/time wasting my time and energy. This lack of professionalism and disorganization would lead me to believe they are equally terrible at moving your furniture from place to place, although I did not contract them as movers.

I called this "company" this morning and it sounded like i was waking a college kid up from his drunken stupor and he did not know whose house he woke up in.To make a longer story shorter....When I asked for a quote to move my things, he replied "oh!" they "do not do that anymore."
