We were moving and had another moving company scheduled to pick up our stuff and for no apparent reason they never showed up or let us know they couldn't accommodate our move.We tried several movers but what happened was either their price was out of this world or they didn't service where we were. We preferred Honest Queens Movers simply because they were online,had a very high rating and were the nicest people to talk to over the phone. Despite the tight schedule, they said they could accommodate us and pick us up within 36 hours. They showed up the very next day late in the evening and they got the job done effectively and delivered us 4 days later. Honest Queens Movers showed up when they said they would, delivered us at the quickest time at the most affordable price.

Not happy with the experience. I was moving from Bensonhurst, Brooklyn to Rego Park and I chose this place specifically because I figured it would be advantageous to hire a mover that was either close to my point of origin or my destination, the logic being that they'd be familiar with the terrain and things would move more smoothly. I called about ten days ahead to get prices and set up the appointment. The guy on the phone was professional and laid it out correctly, but when he picked up the phone he didn't say "Honest Queens Movers," he said a different name, which I thought was odd, but didn't question at the time. The actual movers called to confirm the night before and it was at that point I realized that this place basically hires freelancers. These particular guys were coming down from Massachusetts, which explains why they arrived about two hours late because they had no idea whatsoever how to get around New York or how much lead time to give themselves. The moving truck was sizable and belonged to them, but everything else was pretty no frills. For example they didn't have any of those padded blankets that movers wrap around furniture and as a result a number of my possessions arrived scratched. They noticed (it was pretty glaring), but stopped short of commenting on it. When they arrived at my new place, they had to pull into an icy courtyard and the truck was so tall that they wound up yanking out a bunch of people's cable wires. I felt bad for the guys, honestly, because they were trying hard, but just couldn't catch a break. Because of the major delays in both directions one of the guys said he would charge me a straight fee and shave off an hour. However, when it was time to go he put me on the phone with the "boss" who basically said "Um, yeah no, I'm not going to do that. You're paying the rate quoted. I trust everything went well...?" At that point I just didn't have it in me to argue and I certainly didn't want to say something that would decrease the guys' employability in this economy, so I paid the full price, tipped them 30 bucks a piece for their troubles and breathed a deep sigh of relief when the ordeal was over and I closed the door behind them. Simply put, I cannot recommend this place. If their lack of centralized, professional-grade, locally knowledgeable movers came with a steeply reduced price, it might be worth your while. But this place just has sub-par, outsourced service at pretty much the same prices as everyone else.
