NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!!They charged nearly THREE times the estimate; damaged/"lost" items; and did not adhere to delivery schedule. We had a "binding" estimate after an in-person inspection and inventory by "Max".  This was done months ahead of our move to "lock/in" packing/loading/delivery dates, cost, size of truck. This was all confirmed by Great Eagle via numerous phone calls and emails (from them). It should be noted here that we are 70 years old. My wife is disabled (on oxygen) and we needed specific delivery dates to accommodate travel arrangements for my wife - and a specific size truck to accommodate condo rules. We also had advised there would be some medical equipment transported in the moving truck that my wife would need. We were both present at the initial interview and packing/loading of truck so they were well aware of my wife's medical condition. On moving day, AFTER the truck was fully loaded, "Oscar" advised that the cost would be nearly THREE times the original estimate - and they would not deliver or unload until they received payment in cash/postal money order. He also insisted that we sign forms - and would not allow notes saying we disagreed - or, again, no delivery/unpacking. We signed. (Note: since we were moving from a house into a condo, we "downsized" and had less to move and less to pack than inventoried at the original estimate. Fortunately we had packed our most valuable items.)We then contacted a lawyer, Department of Consumer Affairs, and DOT (Department of Transportation). All said we'd have to pay or Great Eagle could put everything in storage and charge even more. They said we should file claims after delivery. We paid. To add insult to injury, they then delayed delivery by 4 days - which was a hardship for my wife and extremely stressful for both of us. We did speak to Great Eagle regarding our need for the medical equipment to no avail. To further rub salt into the wound, furniture arrived scratched and broken - as were dishes and appliances (haphazardly thrown in boxes with a layer of carefully wrapped items on top). Some items were missing (appliances) and a new suitcase (with medical equipment packed inside). Their inventory was a handwritten piece of paper (" #1-29 boxes", etc.) which we checked off as they were delivered. We noted at the time that items were missing. Nothing was labeled which made unpacking a nightmare. Gave them 1 star only because it was the lowest I could give. We will be filing claims with DOT and Consumer Affairs. We don't expect to get our money back - or reimbursed for damages or expenses incurred waiting for delayed delivery - but are hopeful Great Eagle will be fined and/or lose their license so they can't continue their "bait and switch".

Would give 0 star review if I could. See BBB reviews and google reviews - this is a fraudulent operation with a consistently repeated script. We worked with Eddie on the phone. He seemed nice, genuine and made commitments that the move price was stay fixed if we only had the items listed and our delivery day was locked in. All of the work would be done by their team. All of this was in writing because I was suspicious. On move in day, Oscar and his team showed up 2 hours late. He first brought in the bill of lading and invoice and told me where to sign. He said he would fill the in the price and items later. Seriously. Of course, I refused. 3 hours later (1 bedroom apartment already packed), Oscar raises the price by 80% above what was agreed up. He said something to the effect, I don't know what Eddie promised, but these are our terms.  You see, Eddie gives you a hell of the deal on the phone based on your inventory of stuff.  However, the guys that come will simply determine a new price as if there were no prior conversations. He said I needed to pay with cash or check and then work it out with Eddie. I reluctantly paid (what choice do you have? Stuff was in their possession). Later that night, Eddie calls me urgently saying that if we want our stuff in the next 2 weeks (guarantees delivery date was 3 days from pickup), we needed to direct deposit the funds we had already paid via check into their account by 9a. This was starting to sound like the fraud it is, so I said, why don't I come by your office in the morning and give you the money and take back your check. At that point he threatened me to say, if you want your stuff anytime soon, these are our terms; you cannot come to our office. I called him out as having changed the terms and he said, fine, we will deliver it in a couple weeks. Without any leverage and so much stress/anxiety we felt like crying, we deposited the money into their account. The day before the guaranteed delivery date Eddie calls me to say he has good news, they will be there sometime during the day we agreed upon and will provide 12 hours notice. This shouldn't have been news; we agreed in writing. When the crew shows up, they are not even Great Eagle employees. They outsourced it to 2 nice young men (this was a blessing, frankly). Our bed was broken (snapped wood), 2 bike tires bent and untrued (front fork bent 45 degrees), and our TV stand has a leg broken off. Currently considering taking legal action. See other reviews. DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS WILL STEAL YOUR THINGS!!! We had to get the police involved and thank God for cameras. We caught the "foreman" the "best guy they had" stealing from us. They are extremely unprofessional and just want money. They could care less about anything else. Giving them 1 star is more than I would give. On top of that their estimate is to get you to use them then they jack up the price almost double. This company is truly the worst moving company in the Tri-State.
