Genesis Van-lines

Back in March 2011, I called Genesis to move me from NY to LA. I requested that my belongings be delivered in LA on June 30th 2011. I got the run around for 2 months before the phone became disconnected. Through my research with Department of Transportation, I have learned that Genesis has lost its license to move anyone. I realize this is a very unfortunate situation, but they have a responsibility and a commitment to the consumer.  I have no information of where my belongings are. Please contact me at nongt33@hotmail if you have any information on them.They disappear... It's very mess up that they just don't care...Is there anyone out there are in the same position as I am???I am looking to see if any has any info that can help me investigate and help me find my things

I was unhappy with this moving company. I spoke to the office manager about a month before I would do the move. I asked her many questions to make sure that there werent going to be any extra charges and surprises. She assured me that the cost would be 358 and that every extra hour gone over with moving would be an extra 89 dollars. After the move the moving manager tells me i owe an extra  89 dollars for a return trip. Im on a budget I didnt have the extra cash but their tip.  They arrived at 11am when my appointment was to start btw 9-10am. The second mover arrived at 12:10pm.  They came with out tools -I had to provide them. I didnt care to give them tools but I thought that was some what unprofessional.  One thing they did well was handle my property well.  Would I ever use them again. NO  I didnt like the service.

These guys were horrible.  The movers showed up nearly 4 hours late, and ran out of tape and supplies mid-move.  It took over a month for my items to arrive in CA.  When my items showed up, several were missing and a number of them were soaking wet with mildew, and the furniture was all scratched up.  It took nearly 4 months of calling them every day to get the claim processed.  I had to file several better business bureau complaints to get a response, and they held my claim check hostage until I closed the better business bureau complaint.  On top of all that, it was nearly $1k more than the original estimate.  Avoid these guys at all costs.

Was easy to find out that Genesis Van-lines was not a reputable moving company. Besides their incessant phone calls and emails twice a day, every day, they do not remove my information or stop contacting even after I unsubscribed through the link in the email, called them, and emailed requesting my contact information be removed and/or placed on a 'Do not call' list. She told me the owner of the company will just go in and re-add me to the list. She didn't seem concerned when I told her that was illegal and in violation of the FTC's CAN-SPAM act. When I asked for their physical address, she refused to provide it and hung up. Find another moving company!
