These guys are awesome!  I ordered a huge sofa from Macy's and the damn thing did not fit through the door of my NYC apartment, so the Macy's representative told me to call Garry Furniture (aka a couch doctor).  I had never heard of a 'couch doctor' before, and I was very skeptical to let people take apart my couch and reassemble it once it's in the apartment.  I searched online for other 'couch doctors' in NYC but they were all way more expensive than Garry Furniture. I gave them a call and they were able to deliver the couch 4 days later.  They arrived on time, were extremely friendly, and finished the job in about 30 minutes.  The nice thing about this company is that they partner with many furniture stores, so they picked up the couch from the Macy's warehouse and delivered it to my apartment...I didn't have to lift a finger (which is nice, because I don't have a car in NYC).  They price by the length of the couch, so you don't have to deal with any ambiguous 'ball park' quotes that end up being higher than you expected.It is definitely safe to say that I am no longer skeptical of 'couch doctors' and I would definitely recommend giving these guys a call if you need this kind of service.  The couch looks great and you can't even tell that it was reassembled.  I am very pleased with the way it turned out.

Cannot recommend them enough! Needed to get a couch through a very narrow door into my basement. They showed up right on time and were very professional. Couch was disassembled and reassembled very quickly. Couch looks great, you'd never know it was taken apart. It's literally like magic. HIGHLY Recommended!

I love my cozy apartment but my 31-inch wide door has been holding me back from buying a real sofa small enough to fit thru my door frame to replace the futon couch for years. But when my friend offered to give me her beautiful sofa to me for free, I decided to take the big leap and look into furniture modification service. After doing lots of research and getting quotes from a few services, I decided to go with Garry Furniture for the following reasons:1) Garry Furniture works with Macy's and Bloomingdales which are known for their customer service, so if they refer their customers to Garry, that's a big win in my book.2) Julio from Garry Furniture was super professional, courteous and prompt in our correspondence.3)  Garry Furniture provided the best quote, which like the other reviewer said, is based on the length of the sofa, unlike other couch doctoring services which quoted a broad range of $300-$500 depending on how "difficult" the disassembly/assembly is.  Garry Furniture's quote was fair and The best out of the three companies I contacted. Plus, they accept credit cards!On the day of my appointment, Julio and Abraham were at the pick-up location on time, which I really appreciated. Then they proceeded to work their magic, and moved my sofa to my apartment. They made the entire process so easy, and the couch looks beautiful in my apartment. I highly recommend Garry Furniture to anyone who needs help fitting furniture thru small spaces.Thank you Julio and Abraham for making my cozy apartment even more fabulous!
