This is a terrible company.  They never showed up. I am only giving them one star because Yelp doesn't allow me to continue "without" rating. My rating would be zero stars.  They were nice at the beginning, when I was scheduling the job. I needed to move out on a Sunday morning on the last day of my lease. It sounded a little bit like the representative (Shaun) was doing me a favor. But he scheduled me for the morning. So far so good. On Saturday morning I called them to confirm and everything was fine. In the afternoon, the company called me to tell me that my window was 11am-2pm. On Sunday, the driver called me at 1pm, saying that they were on their way, probably arriving by 2pm. At 1:45, they called me again, now saying that they had to pick up and drop somebody else before me, but I shouldn't worry because "he only had 10 bags". I called multiple times, with almost no information. The dispatcher in the office was not able to help me. At some point, she was only condescending, telling me "patience, patience, patience" at 5pm! I called the driver again and again, with no answer. At 5:30pm he called me and said he was coming in 1 hour. At 7pm he said half an hour. That was the last time we talked. Of course, they never showed up or called to cancel the job.

The representative, Jennifer, was very sweet and energetic when she was trying to get my business however when I called her with a problem, she was quick to dismiss my issue. First, they were scheduled to pick up our furniture on Friday, December 30, 2011 but did not show up because they claimed that their truck broke down. They did not call us until an hour after the scheduled pick up time. Then, when they finally came to get the furniture the following day, they didn't bring a big enough truck which resulted in 2 trips and more time for us to pay. They also ended up damaging the molding on the face of the door. The movers admitted to the accident and a complaint was made. We were told that a manager would contact us regarding the incident. Two weeks passed and we hadn't heard from anyone. When I called them back I was told that a complaint was never made and we didn't have the insurance to cover any damage. How was I supposed to know about such insurance if it was never offered to me?!?! I called back to have my issue resolved and was spoken to with a dismissive attitude and told that there was nothing they could do. What happened to keeping the customer happy? They basically had my money already and didn't care about anything afterward. This is a terrible way to do business! Also, they now go by a new name New York Van Lines. Hhmm I wonder why?! Probably because they are such a TERRIBLE COMPANY!!

Worst company ever!!!  Stay away!!!  Had used them 8/2011.  Out of the three guys they sent, only one worked!  Mind you, he had a limp!!  Should've known I was going to have trouble.  From the beginning, they almost showed up on time.  Then, they took their sweet ass time getting everything to the truck.  At one point, they just disappeared for what was apparently a long lunch.  At they end of they day, like thirteen hours later, they delivered my items to my new address damaged.  The kicker was that my new address was only 5 min. from where they picked up!!  God awful!!!!

Do not use this moving company!!  I set up a job to bring my belongings from CT to NYC on a Sunday.  I placed the order the Wednesday prior and the guy acted like he was doing me a huge favor by "accommodating me".  I was told they were supposed to arrive between 2 and 3pm.  They showed up at 7 hours late at 9pm.  The men there worked at a leisurely pace, despite the fact that we still had to drive 3 hours to NYC and that they were going to be moving me into my apartment building at 2am!!  I would have cancelled but was stuck after not hearing from them until 5pm that day and having to go back to the city to work on Monday.  I was charged for items I didn't ask for but they put on my furniture anyways.  My roommate and I ended up working alongside them, and at a faster pace, to finish the job up faster (We finished at 4am...).  I called the next day to complain (at 10am) and was told the manager wasn't in yet.  I left my name and phone number (after detailing everything to the woman already) and never received a call back.  I called later on and finally got in touch with the manager, who was rude and disinterested, who then put me on hold for a while and handed me off to the man who I originally placed the order with.  This man yelled at me that he "went above and beyond to accommodate me" and then hung up on me.  I'm assuming they have caller ID because the 6 phone calls I made directly after were not answered.  I will be disputing the charges put onto my credit card until they behave like a professional service company.  Absolutely horrific experience.  Find anyone else, even if they are your last option.
