I also used this company to move across country from Connecticut to California cant get much farther than that. I too experienced great customer service on the phone and felt at ease with Lola, but that is only half the story. Everything was going  good until the day of pick up when the guys showed up in a team of three and took over my apartment like bees to honey, I mean it was mayhem, they spoke limited English and had a hard time understanding what I would ask them to do i.e. had a large piece of art that was on the wall and asked them to take it down pack it and load it on the  truck as they were finishing up and giving me final details of move I noticed it was still hanging on the wall--- ummm hello? Also like last reviewer I was quoted $1200 and final total was $2100Anyway the guy who showed me my information on pickup asked about my first date of availability to recieve my belongings in California I told him June 30th a week from the date of pickup, he did not explain to me that they would  not be putting anything on the truck until after said date. Upon arrival in California I phoned Van lines and they told me they were not sure when they would be able to get my stuff out on a truck that they had 7-21 business days to get it to me but that it never took that long- needless to say I lived in an apartment with nothing but a bed that I bought when I got here for 3.5 weeks. When my stuff finally did arrive the drivers arrived one in flip flops and the other unable to speak any english and essentially dropped it off and hit the road, they did not reassemble my furniture as our contract required.  As well some of my boxes were opened, multiple items, dented, damaged, broken, waterlogged (why were any of my belogings subjected to water) as well all of the cardboard looked like it had been to hell and back.  Also missing bed slats and the post thats attached my mirror to the dresser ugh When I phoned North Van Lines Mimi was not patient with me and told me that I had to go through their insurance carrier's website to log in all of my damaged belongings.... UGH Moving is stressful and this company did not make it much easier.  Sorry for long review.

Looks like this company has rebranded yet again.  This is the same company that was once Merit Van Lines, as well as North Van Lines.  Please do thorough research on both former companies.  I don't know how this company keeps getting away with this but I finally contacted someone that is going undercover to do something about them.  This is a very bad company to do business with.  They were once Merit Van Lines in which they received hundreds of bad complaints about shady business.  Please do not do business with this company.  They charge you money up front, which reputable movers won't do, require 70% before delivery, and have your items delivered by a third party which requires cash or postal money order for final payment.  Oh did I also mention that your orignal binding estimate doubles or triples once the illegals pick up your furniture?  They are aIso very rude, hostile, and confrontational when they deliver your items.  One mention of an attorney before you get your furniture and you may never see it again, or it will come back with broken/missing items. I know from experience and I would not want this to happen to anyone else.  Please hire a reputable national moving company with a real BBB rating.  This company is not registered with the BBB and makes up their own reviews. I even got a threatning e-mail from someone at the business after writing this review.  This is a comapny full of immoral idiots.

Based on my personal experience, I would recommend you stay as far from this company as you can.  They did not meet my expectations in terms of delivery or customer service.    In my opinion, there is no reason to use North Van Lines when there are so many other movers to pick from who may have better communications skills and customer service.  And I'm not alone in my feeling about their bad service.  If you click the Filter button at the bottom of the page, you'll see more reviews by people who had bad experiences with North Van lines.
