Athletic Movers saved the day for us this weekend when our original movers (Mubers Moving) didn't show up. Athletic was able to get a three man team and a truck to our apartment within a few hours, and they worked hard all day and didn't jack up the price, even though they knew we were in a tough position. All of our furniture showed up in perfect condition and they managed to not mess up our very narrow staircase/banister/walls. All of the guys were extremely nice and took great care of our belongings. Very happy with their service.

This was about five years ago but I just found the receipt I kept from these guys and had flashbacks from what was one of the most horrific moving experiences I could have ever imagined. Very long story short: they showed up several hours late, said they were too tired to move (we had to move that day), demanded all the money upfront plus more, refused to unload the truck at the new destination and watched me do it then took off. (They were going to leave it all on the street at night in the winter and keep my money) Of course things were damaged in the process. For the love of god avoid these guys like the plague.

A PERFECT JOB!!   I have moved several times and each one was a nightmare in one way or another.  BUT...this time a friend recommended ATHLETIC MOVERS and my nightmares were over!!  Rudy the owner/manager was charming and VERY efficient and his crew was AMAZING! First of all they arrived exactly when they said they would, actually a few minutes early!!  They were lightening fast the guys worked like a real team and really took great care with all my fragile pieces.  Everything, and I mean everything, arrived in PERFECT CONDITION!!  For the first time I felt as if I had hired professionals not just some guys with a truck!!  I would recommend them to anyone. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! A++++

Pros were:- Perfectly on time, waiting at my truck, ready to go before I walked out.- Let you sign the time on the forms to make sure you can track it yourself.- They told me to stop trying to move stuff because they wanted to do it themselves.- I think they took previous customers suggestions because they smelled like roses while moving stuff around, it was awesome.- Very kind demeanor and professional.Cons were:- They bumped into a few walls more than a couple of times. No noticeable scratches though.- They sometimes try to move too many things at once and they dropped a few things, but again no damage that I have noticed.- One of the guys does not speak English and it was hard to communicate with him in certain situations.

This is the worst experience I have ever had!!! I chose them based on the good reviews and also last minute moving. Bad service and the manager Rudy refused to communicate afterwards. 1. Very inefficient moving. For a 1br apt moving with both move in and move out elevators and only less than 2 miles distance, it took 3 men 8 hours to finished. During the move, I barely see two of them. They were constantly texting and talking on the phone and I got no surprise one guy then asked us to charge his phone.2. Overcharged for half an hour.  Towards the end of the moving, the movers wanted to charge us both ways as travel time (aka, changed from 0.5hr to 1hr) where the original quote gave us half an hour discount. We even called the manager but his guy called his own manager bullshit (his original words) and added the additional 0.5hr as moving time and refused to reassemble our furnitures before changing this.3. Threatened for more than 25% tips after which he finally reluctantly reassembled our furnitures. 4. One broken vase, one broken lamp and several scratches on my office table. After negotiating for two weeks, Rudy claimed that insurance company will only refund for $9. Is that a joke??!!5. Closed to moving out of our original building almost had a quarrel with movers hired by another unit. Due to the inefficiency, the move were gone out of my scheduled time for service elevator (9am-1pm). There's another moving company who booked after 1PM. My building manager helped us not getting into any trouble.6. We spent 2wks trying to negotiate with Rudy but only received delayed response and ridiculous refund estimate and later on little or no communication at all.DO NOT use them!!!
