I was moving a small 1bdr apartment from Jersey City to Manhattan. We contacted various movers and ended up going with Amerisouth. That was the first mistake we made. They contract out the work to independent contractors. We were Quoted $600 for the move. We ended up paying over $1300. I have very little furniture and other things. 1. They arrived on time (the only good thing)2. The quoted price is for certain amount of space on the truck, the truck that our mover used had another persons things in it which he had to deliver before delivering my stuff the next day (we will come back to this)3. They make you pay for all materials used, they were going through tape like it was nothing, they must have gone through about 20-30+ rolls and charging us close to $400 just for supplies. We had already taped all our boxes, they insisted they had to tape over them.4. When we booked our move, we were have our things delivered at 10am (we had to reserve the elevator) the next morning, however the day the mover arrived he said he could come after 4pm.. luckily my new building was accommodating and allowed me to change my time. He couldn't come earlier because he had to deliver the other persons furniture all the way in philly and being a sunday afternoon, there was no way i could have found another mover.5. They PARTIALLY take credit card. We paid the initial deposit with credit card however everything else was CASH ONLY to the MOVER.. VERY SHADY.DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I know reputable movers is an oxymoron but I'm sure you can find a better SCAM ARTIST ... err mover than amerisouth..STAY AWAY

I recently moved from PA to TX and I used Amerisouth Relocation. The experience turned out great. The crew arrived on time and my belongings were delivered in a timely manner. There were no hidden charges or additional fees. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone that is looking for a reliable moving company.

There is no wonder they don't take credit cards or cashier's checks.  This was a terrible experience.1.  Contract said that they did not charge for packing materials; they charged us almost $700 for packing materials.2.  Did not show up for scheduled appointments or cancelled or rescheduled several times3.  After specifically stating that they must have a money order, late the night before the scheduled delivery, the driver said that it must be cash, so the money order needed to be cashed in early the next morning for the delivery to happen.4.  Driver said that he was offered $1000 by the moving company to take belongings; when client said that he would tip driver generously instead, driver asked "how much?"5.  Driver stated that they had had the furniture so long that they were going to charge for storage.6.  Did not reassemble furniture as stated in contract.  When driver asked by client to reassemble, driver stated that he did not have tools.7.  When the moving was company called, the conversation went as follows: Me:  Your driver said that he didn't have tools to assemble the furniture, but it is part of the contract. Moving Company:  Why didn't you ask about it? Me:  We did. MC:  Why didn't you lend the driver your tools? Me:  They were packed in some box that's somewhere in the apartment. MC:  Why don't you hire a handyman to put things together? Me:  Then will you reimburse us for the cost of hiring someone to do what was in your contract to do? MC:  I don't have that authority. Me:  May I speak with a supervisor? MC:  No.   Me:  No? MC:  I AM a supervisor. Me:  How will be able to have the furniture put together? MC:  I don't know.  I can try to call the driver again, but his voice mailbox is full and I can't leave a message. Me:  Then how can we know when we can have someone fulfill that part of the contract? MC:  I don't know.  That's why I suggested that you hire a handyman.  It's summertime, so they are very busy. Me:  That is not acceptable. MC:  That is all I can do. Me:  That's all you can do?  That's all you can do? MC:  You keep repeating yourself and raising your voice.  I will not be part of an argument.  Have a nice day.
