AVOID!!!Here was my complaint to the BBB. I was awarded a partial refund (which I never saw).On 3/27 the movers aborted the contracted task of moving an organ. It was left in the garage, wrapped. We were told that the they would return the next day when they were in the area. After waiting, I called the company to learned that Advantage intended on billing us for two more hours if they returned to put the organ in the house. Also, surprise charges were not declared on the initial estimate or work order, nor in 2-3 telephone conversations + 3 emails with Jeff (sales rep). I asked him if there would be any other charges besides those on the estimate and he assured me that there would not be. The charges that were most dishonest were the commute time and toll charges which totaled 1 hour "labor" plus $30 for tolls. It is confirmed in a voice mail left by Susan that, "We [Advantage] have a truck that's in New Jersey, so I need you to call me back if I am able to do anything today... ". $30 for tolls was not declared on the estimate, nor should they be my burden for choosing Advantage to do the job. In fact, the following 3 excerpts are directly quoted from the work order email I received.: 1)"This price includes loading and unloading, disassembly, reassembly and packing of your furniture items, fuel, tolls and miles and basic insurance of $.60 per lb per article." 2)"Hourly Estimate Estimated Labor Time:: 03:00 Estimated Travel Time back to Origin:: 00:00 Hourly Rate: $95.00" 3)"Totals Cost to Ship $285.00 Packing $0.00 Other Charges $28.50 Total Estimate $313.50" The charges for 1 hour commute from the home office($95), tolls ($30), and packing materials ($124) should be adjusted to reflect the initial estimate in the name of fair business. I expect a refund of $249.00.

You get what you pay for. We went with one of the cheaper moving companies b/c we were moving from a 1 bedroom apartment. We did not have many items and the items that were delivered where missing and or broken. After several months of fighting these crooks we gave up. They did "find" some of the lost belongings. They left them on the front door with a sorry note.DO  NOT  USE  THIS  COMPANY!!!

THIS COMPANY IS A PACK OF LIARS AND OFFERS NOTHING BUT BROKEN PROMISES (ALSO BROKEN FURNITURE) AND STOLEN ITEMS! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!  This company will over charge for services they do not provide. they say they wrap every precious item. If they don't put them in their own pocket. Their disclaimer of being bonded is a lie. it took almost 2 years for the insurance claim to processed, after being lost, not received, sent to the wrong address( which they had provided) AND the crew demanded a $200 tip for each person or they would not allow me to have my things. Nothing was wrapped, but I was charged for 100 yards of bubblewrap. Don't know what they wrapped, but it was not my items. Guess they feel that pots and pans are great cushioning for fine china and crystal, because that's how they packed everything. just throw everything in a box and shake well, adds up to great customer service all for $1200. more than the written estimate. What a great value, I got a bunch of antique firewood and some beautiful broken glass and china for drainage in the bottom of my flower pots all for $3500. wow! And the bonus was. Advantage  said the could also move my car in the moving van and even pack it with valuables. It would be safer than bring valuables on the airplane. Well the car took over 37 days to get here to California. !st time via Texas where it was abandoned for over a week. Finally getting here minus all my mother precious memories and heirlooms. Now all she has to give her grandchlidren  is photos of our family heirlooms, the original items were all stolen from her car being so safely transported. When I confronted the owner, Sam/ Shmolo /or Shmuel or what ever name he is using to avoid angry customers, he denied his companies ever having possession of my car, DESPITE I had 3 bills of lading with his company and employees signature on every document and he doesn't remember ever having a very heated discussion about how I should receive my car in a few days. He calls himself a religious man of great faith and swears on the Torah he knows nothing about his company moving my car ( this company is NOT allowed under DOT regulations to transport automobiles) Yet he reprimanded his employee for signing a contract to move my car. Not only is he a bad liar, but he is a lousy human being. Shame on him, but since he has no conscience this has no bearing on him. Hope he doesn't believe in  Karma. I have still to recover any monies for the things lost and he broke the heart and spirit of an 85 year old lady. May he rot and roast in Hell. His company continues to rip people off, and I warn every person I can about choosing another moving company.  His attitude and company are the worst example of human beings.

Advantage Van Lines is the WORST moving company I have ever encountered. They quoted me a low price ($484 to move from Philadelphia to NYC, for 2 men and 3 hours of labor, plus 2 hours of driving time); this sounded much more reasonable than the $1000+ that the other companies quoted me, so I chose Advantage. What I needed the movers to do was pick up my stuff from Philly, make a stop along the way to pick up my roommate's belongings from her NYC apt., and then move all the goods to our new apartment. In email correspondence with Advantage, they didn't send correct delivery date on the form that I needed to sign. They claimed that "the date didn't matter." I had them re-send the form with correct date so that I had it in writing, but it did no good. Dispatch wouldn't answer any of my calls when I was trying to confirm the pick up and delivery of my goods. I wanted the move to occur on Friday, July 31 because that was the day my lease ended. Dispatch finally called me back and left a voice mail at 8:30 the night before the move to tell me that they couldn't do the move on Friday the 31 and they needed to reschedule for Saturday, August 1. I told them that wasn't ok. They didn't care.  I asked for that in writing and they didn't email it because they were "busy."We got one night extension on our move out. The next day, the movers called me at 8:30 a.m. to say they would be in Philadelphia in an hour. At 10:00 they called again. The guy I spoke to said, "So you want your items in storage, right?" Um, NO. I DID NOT want my belongings in storage, as I had needed the move to occur the day before. I told him this and his response (in heavily accented, hard to decipher English) was "Delivery? Today? I don't know, we're pretty busy. Call the office."At 2:45 p.m., the movers still hadn't gotten to NYC (it's about a 2 hour drive from Philadelphia in good weather with no traffic.) I called the driver to find out where the movers were. His answer was, "I don't know, I can't tell you where your belongings are. Today is really busy, I have a lot of other jobs today, you need to call the office."I called the office and spoke to a woman named Susan. She claimed that she had been the one to confirm my move (I had never spoken to this woman before in my life!) and she argued with me that I'd asked for my belongings to be put in storage until August 8 or 10. I told her there was no way I would have said that, and that I have written confirmation from them about delivery on July 31st. She said she would call the driver and call me back. She never called me back.At this point, I had my dad call to speak to her. Susan told him that there was no way to track where my belongings were, but that the movers were en route and would be in NYC by the end of the day (aka 11:59 pm). She said they'd call when they were 30 minutes away. Then my mom called and spoke to Susan, and got verbal confirmation that we weren't being charged for their mistakes and that we would only be charged the quoted amount as if they had picked up and delivered my belongings as promised. Susan said the movers would be there by 8 p.m.Meanwhile, I had theater tickets for that night that were non-refundable, so my roommate said she would deal with the movers when they arrived. When I called my roommate at intermission, she was in tears (and she's not a crier!) She said that two huge mafia-looking men had shown up at our sublet apartment wearing Precision Movers uniforms (not Advantage Van Lines, as hired.) They took one look around and said "This is way more stuff than the girl said it was. It'll cost you $847." ($300 more than the quoted price.) My roommate explained that they had my credit card on file and were supposed to charge it, but they refused to move any goods without a physical credit card that they could charge first. They turned to leave, so my roommate ended up putting the entire charge on her parents' card. The movers then refused to take any of her belongings that were in trash bags; when she asked why, one of the men smacked a bag open and spilled her belongings all over, saying, "That's why not." They then called in two more men to help with the move and charged us for the additional labor (side note: these men were muscular and we had already disassembled all our furniture except one bookcase, a lightweight couch, and a kitchen cabinet. THOSE THINGS DON'T REQUIRE 4 MEN TO CARRY). My roommate said she kept a corkscrew wine bottle opener in her pocket because she was scared of them and wanted something to defend herself just in case. THIS IS HARASSMENT AND ABUSE. In the process of our move, the movers broke 2 dressers, smashed in some of my boxes labeled "Fragile", and used our bathroom without flushing. My roommate finally tipped them just to get them to leave.THIS WAS THE MOST HORRENDOUS MOVING EXPERIENCE. Never, ever use this company!! It was a nightmare. I'm now looking at pressing charges and reporting them to the BBB.
