Wow, if your company hires drivers to consistently drive illegally in the bike lane cutting off drivers this doesn't make me think it's a great company. Hire more responsible drivers that don't endanger other people on the road! (Plus, you're in charge of hauling peoples personal belongings -- be careful with them!)

Horrible service. Wanted to charge me $500 to do nothing. They showed up 45 mins late, with no materials/equipment and when I called to clarify, Jessica (who scheduled the move) was incredibly rude. Do not waste your time.

WORST MOVING COMPANY EVER!!!! I would give them no stars if I could. I hired Windy City Movers last week and am highly disappointed. They flooded my apartment. As we were moving in we informed the movers that we were getting rid of a all in one washer dryer and to let us no if they were interested. My husband and I were trying to be good samaritans considering we new that when Sears brought our new larger unit they would trash the old unit. It was a free unit in good condition, we thought, maybe we could help someone out by giving it away. One of the movers showed interest in the unit and attempted to disconnect the plumbing. Even after my husband asked if the man knew what he was doing, the mover proceeded to attempt to disconnect the water confirming, he did. The next thing we knew water was shooting out onto our newly refinished walnut floors. There was so much water that it covered my feet. It was dam near a swamp. Apparently, the mover had not turned off the water and had disconnected the pipe from the water hose while the water was still on. It took 30 minutes before the idiot was able to reconnect the hose to the waterline. During that time a constant gush of water was shooting out of the pipe. Because we live on the 3rd floor our downstairs neighbors had water damage. Luckily our unit did not sustain damage due to newly sealed hardwoods. When I contact the owner Ed regarding refunding our money he told me that the $40 discount that was originally provided was all he could do considering that we had not had any damages. WE PAID THEM $500 DOLLARS! Next he asked that I provide his number to my neighbors so that he could go to their apartment and assess the damages and that a statement from my insurance company would not suffice. He also insinuated that my husband told the movers that the water was off which is a BOLD FACE LIE! Why would someone want to have a mover come in and assess the damages to their place.I am highly disappointed with this service. When I called to follow-up originally, a couple days after the incident, I was told that Ed would call me back. Two days later when I called back as I had not heard from Ed, I was told that the phone lines had been down for two days and that was the reason I never received a call back. I guess no one has a cell phone. How does a moving company not have a working phone for two days. I paid a great deal of money and got shitty service and to top it all off, shortly after they left I found scratches on my floors from when they attempted to move the refrigerator to check for pooling water and realized later that the fire extinguisher in my hallway was knocked off its perch and a screw hinge was ripped out of the wall. This was our first condo and they ruined our move, created a situation where the first interactive we had with our neighbors were horrible, and we spent our first weekend contacting our insurance company, and delaying installation of appliances. And all I got back was a lame bullshit apology and $40. I should have never paid them.Ed did not seem to truly give a crap about our sleepless nights, stress and our now strained relationship with our neighbors. The jerk did not even offer a partial refund. Their customer service sucks. I cannot believe they have so many good reviews.I WILL NEVER EVER HIRE THEM AGAIN!!!!! I am considering calling the Better Business Bureau. My advice is to stay clear of Windy City Movers. They are over priced and the owner could careless about the stress and aggravation their mistakes may cause you.

I was previously a repeat customer (I had used these movers twice before), but I will NEVER use them again. They completely wasted my time. After multiple email correspondences and phone calls with Jessica, the "supervisor" spoke with me today and said, "We can't book your move. The job before you is just too big."  Sorry... what?! Mind you, they told me this mere DAYS before I am supposed to move. They are beyond unprofessional. Honestly, I will never use them again.Update: The owner just posted a comment to my review in an attempt to deflect all responsibly. This was a matter of a (likely new) employee not correctly recording my move date/information, and then the owner hanging me out to dry at the 11th hour. The comment from Sheri trying to make it seem like it was my fault has just enforced my decision to never use this company again.

Fair performance but terrible customer service after our complaints.Long story short: will not use them again, and will go back toMovetastic (that reimbursed us during our previous move for almost thefull price of the bed, just because they caused scratches to the headboard). The moving itself went ok and the crew was easy to work with. Finally, they were able to quickly adjust to the challenges we encountered(there was construction zones in both places, where we moved from andwhere we moved to).The issue we had is with customer service and how the companyaddressed the concern. For our recent move, the hourly fee of $120+ per hour included thedisassembly and assembly of our bed (full disclaimer, from IKEA). It tookone person about 30 mins for the disassembly and almost 1 hour tore-"assemble". This was done poorly despite the significant amount of time it took and this person blamed his shoddy work on the fact that the screws were stripped.A couple of nights later, the bed collapsed on my side and I suddenlyfound myself basically on the floor. We removed the mattress and foundthat the screws on both sides of the bed had not been tightened at all, and the tension rods that support the mattress and hold the sides of the bed together were damaged because they were installed improperly. My husband and me then had to spend our own time to properly re-assemble the bed, and we discovered that the supposedly stripped screws screwed in easily using a small portable screwdriver. The bed now is fixed and assturdy as before.I reached out to the company and shared pictures, and asked for a partial refund since a lot of time was wasted while we were paying by the hour, plus we had to spend our own time fixing the poor work.We spoke to Jessica on the phone, who was extremely nice and told us the her boss would reach out to us soon.We heard nothing for 2 weeks, even after frequent follow-ups by phone. After 2 weeks, we finally got the manager's phone number and called him directly. He was aware of our complaint, and offered us a whopping $25 refund, which works out to a refund for about 12 minutes of work (1/5 of 1 hour, 125 dollars an hour). When we asked whether he was joking he "counter-offered" $40 (20 minutes of refund). At that point, my husband told him that he could keep his money. We will not use this company ever again and will definitely use MoveTastic again for our next move, since they quickly and voluntarily offered us a fair refund for the damages they caused.
