This long distance moving experience from Chicago to New York was a disaster. I initially chose the company because it sounded like they had better prices than other companies and claimed to have a "flat fee." I had a bad moving experience the year earlier and felt I was now savvier and knew the right questions to ask but I was duped.  The salesman lied to my face and said I wouldn't be charged any extra fees on the day of the move and there were several other lies and poor communication throughout the process making it extremely stressful. I was also told they would give me 15 boxes prior to the move, when they were never delivered prior I got an email saying they would pack them the day of the move. They also told me they would come by to do an assessment of my stuff to make sure I was charged the right amount and they no showed both appointments and were totally unreachable by phone two weeks before the move. The day of the move I was told they would charge extra to pack so I had to hurriedly pack many of my boxes since I did not want to pay more for the service. Throughout the process I was charged over $500 extra including random fees that were nowhere in the contract such as an elevator fee ($150) and a packaging fee ($135) even though I ended up packing everything myself.  I was assured I would not be charged for a long carry($150) and was charged for this as well plus $200 for extra stuff.I was staying out of town until I was notified my stuff would be delivered and then it didnt come until two days after they told me it would be there without any explanation or apology.   When my things were finally delivered they demanded cash upfront for the remaining balance even though this was never previously stated.  Overall, it was a terrible experience, unprofessional, and the salesman were extremely misleading, and following making the sale it was nearly impossible to contact the company.

I finally received my property on 8/8/13 after a call to them from the DOT. Ali and Tony M continued to lie even though I documented everything. The actual guys who moved me were new that week and had no idea what was going on. I won't publicly state why, but I believe the delivery guys were good guys and not involved with the packing of the truck, only driving from Chicago and unloading. The truck was an enterprise rental with uptown moving and storage printed on computer paper covering the enterprise DOT number on the door. Not so coincidently i found a box of antique glassware that had been unpacked from my box and thrown into a large box. as a result several were smashed. I am also missing at least one other box and headboard. They said Ali only would let them accept cash, not even a certified money order, Ali also did not provide them means to write a receipt. I called DOT immediately and was told they had to accept a money order as it was listed as a payment option. Ali and Tony M continued the intimidation tactics. Today I received an email copy of a letter from a member of DOT in DC in response to an email where Tony M lied to them about the contract. The DOT found several violations with the paperwork and delivery that result in a minimum $1000 fine per violation. I am now seeking to file a claim for damaged property, late delivery, time off work twice to receive delivery tat was late, and the difference from the original estimate.
