First off, this review comes with a caveat. I used South Shore for three different moves, all over ten years ago, in the early 2000's. I recently had a poor moving experience with another company, and it made me wistful for those first two South Shore crews I had, so I thought I'd come on here and check out their reviews. I can't really speak for how they are in 2015, but if and when I move again, I might give them a ring. The first two times I used them, their service was fantastic. Their 3-man crews were wonderful, and actually made moving an enjoyable experience, as hard as that is to believe. They were truly a pleasure to work with. Unfortunately there is high turnover in the moving industry, and the crew I got the third time was less professional and helpful, which is why this review is not 5 stars. I also found their rates very reasonable, and they always came in at or below estimate. It's confusing because there are two "South Shore Movers" listed on Yelp at two different addresses on Ogden. I'm assuming they are the same company so I am placing reviews on both.

This moving company is horrible. I had a move scheduled from 1 to 3 10/30/09. They said they would call an hour before the truck was heading over. Everything seemed fine until 1pm, no call. I called the person I set up the appointment with to get a eta. Maliki. He said he couldn't tell me an eta because it all depends on when a truck frees up.  2pm no call. By 3:30 still no call. I did not recieve a call until 5:30pm. 4.5 hours late. I thought they weren't even going to show. Unacceptable. I can understand half an hour or up to an hour late since its the end of the month, but not 4.5 hours late. Also, EZ Movers referred me to them as I was looking for a lower price point. They assured me they gave me a quality referral because it would look poorly on them if anything went wrong. They probably got a referral commission. I know not to trust EZ Movers either.
