Mike the Mover

Mike was scheduled to come at 10am. By 10:15 he hadn't showed up so I called and got voicemail. He called back at 10:30 apologizing profusely for forgetting our appointment (lesson- call and confirm the day before) but promised to get there in 20 minutes. Once he got there with his 10 foot box truck, we had all our stuff loaded up, driven to our new apartment a few blocks away, unloaded and carried up 3 flights of stairs within an hour and a half. Mike was very careful and nothing was damaged or lost. My fiance and I helped carry the boxes and the two of them carried the furniture, so we did have to do a bit of work, but for getting all our stuff moved for $75 it was worth some manual labor.

This company blows, and it is just a different name for "Adam the Mover." Similar to this report (ripoffreport.com/adam-th...) this deadbeat strung me along all day stating his team would be there early afternoon. Our office was all packed up counting on him (I would have happily called another company), and he kept saying "they are on the way", "be patient" and "I'll call you back with an update in 5 min." An hour would pass and no answer. I kept texting him to just let me know if it was even going to happen, and finally around 4:30 it was evident his guys weren't coming, and the coward didn't even have the decency to respond. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY.

I wish I could rate this company lower than 1 star because they/he really doesn't deserve any stars at all. I called "Mike" on a Monday to schedule a move for Saturday. I knew it was short notice but "Mike" said he had a crew available and could pick up at noon and hopefully get the move done in under 2 hours. He gave me an address to email all the info regarding the move and I did.Wednesday I got a confirmation email back and thought we were ready to go. I figured it was only 3 days apart so I didn't call and confirm. It was on the biggest moving day of the year so I figured they'd have their stuff together. "Mike" gave me a cell phone number to call in case there were any problems.Saturday at noon came and no one showed up. 12:30 rolled around and no one showed up. It was raining and I figured the crew got stuck in some weather from an earlier move or something. I called at 12:30 and left a message. I called again at 12:45 and left another message. I texted and emailed and called again at 1pm and have yet to receive a response. My last phone call was around 2:30pm and I had some choice words for whoever's phone it was "Mike" gave me the number to.I'm honestly nervous this was just a phishing scam to get our addresses. I had an apartment burglarized a few years back around the beginning of September and it's a concern "Mike" could be planning on doing the same thing.I ended up calling a friend and borrowing a truck to make the move. "Mike" never came and never responded to my attempts to contact him. Don't hire "Mike." I don't even know if that's his name. If you're looking to hire movers, don't even think about hiring this guy.
