ABSOLUTELY THE WORST MOVING COMPANY EVER!!! Here is exactly how the move went down. First, I lived in a TINY studio in Lakeview and chose to use this company because they were available last minute at what I thought was a reasonable price. The night before the move was to take place, I called Moses to confirm the arrival time and asked whether my clothes needed to be packed in boxes or whether they could remain on the hangers in my closet. I was told 8:30 a.m. would be the arrival and the clothes were fine on the hangers. I had to work that day, so my best friend agreed to be at my apartment to assist the movers.Second, the movers showed up at close to 11:00 a.m. (2 1/2 hours late). I received a text message from my best friend stating "two of these guys are wearing ankle tracking bracelets dude." Also, they are really pissed off that your clothes are on hangers and that you live on the fourth floor. They have been here for 30 minutes and one is already outside smoking a cig.I only moved TWO BLOCKS away (from Broadway to Addison street). My friend let them into my new (current) apartment and asked them to put the furniture in the living room and the kitchen boxes in  the kitchen and the bedroom furniture in the bedroom (no big deal considering you hired movers right)? HUGE DEAL. They refused put stuff where it went and just literally dumped all of the contents of my last apartment in my dining room at my new place. In any event, I tipped the movers $90.00 because I know its a dirty job. When I returned home (from work) to assess just how bad the move had gone here is what happened:1. My futon was thrown so hard against a wall the leg on it broke and left a hole in the wall. 2. A box of martini glasses marked "fragile" were in pieces as they too had likely been thrown.3. Worst of all, MY LAPTOP HAD BEEN STOLEN. This was hands down the worst part of the move. I didn't notice it was gone until a day or two later, but it was packed in a backpack. The backpack was there, but was completely empty and the power cord was missing as well.I called Moses and said I was willing to purchase the laptop back (I am a lawyer and it had confidential client information on it). Moses then placed a call to the movers, all of whom denied taking the laptop. I then called the Lakeview precinct of the Chicago Police Department and once of the nicest detectives I have ever met tried to intervene. Moses again denied any wrongdoing and nobody agreed to return the property.In Chicago, moving companies are used so frequently that people often assume most to be safe and professional (at least I did, considering this was the very first moving company I had ever used). PLEASE NEVER USE THESES GUYS. I was willing to purchase my own property back and agreed not to file charges if it was returned to me, to which I was brushed off. There is nothing "holy" about this company whatsoever. In fact, I am saddened businesses like this are allowed to operate in this amazing city.

I wanted to first make sure this was the same company as the other Review from Terri R. After she mentioned Moses then I knew it was for sure. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We had originally contracted with another moving company and then something happened and they pawned the job off on Holy Land Movers. And that's when the circus happened. They showed up super late even though we had a limited time moving hours with another apartment moving out right after us. They broke a crucial piece of furniture and refused to fix it or compensate us after we literally spoke with them 7-10 times to setup a time for them to send someone out or arrange compensation. The first reviewer was dead on, if they had an option for Negative Starts we would have given that.

DO NOT USE THESE GUYS. They TOTALLY BLEW US OFF after agreeing to move my brother's old refrigerator from Bucktown to Hyde Park. It had to be moved on a specific day to coincide with the delivery of my brother's new refrigerator. I  told Moses that we would be out of town for my father in law's funeral & had arranged for a friend to be at our house to receive the fridge. When they  DIDN'T SHOW UP, I called the man on the truck and he HUNG UP ON ME!  Moses did not answer the phone or return my calls. It was a NIGHTMARE dealing with these guys. If I could, I would give them 5 NEGATIVE STARS.
