We used Golan for a long distance move. I would not recommend.When we called, no one was ever willing to ever tell us were our boxes were. The specialists never called back when they said they would. We were never able to get a hold of the correct person and talked down to for asking simple questions and verifying information. Was hung up on twice for simply asking to verify my address and for information on the move. It seemed like they forgot about us and our stuff was not shipped until the day they assured us it would arrive by.  Somehow the wrong address ended up on our documentation. We changed it with the movers. We also called and made FOUR more attempts to change it and received a promise that it was changed. However I got called by the driver with the wrong address ON THE DAY of delivery. The driver then talked down to me about the overall feasibility of the move because of the size of his truck (which we had already checked but he would not believe me). The driver also demanded a cashiers check, for a price we had never got any information on previously, and getting cash was unfeasible within 12 hours, on a Sunday afternoon. It was completely unpleasant from start to finish. Ultimately several things were broken and one piece was lost.

My mother and I were referred to this company by a friend who had previously received their moving services. We received all the information including the costs and extra fees. The communication was excellent at the time. We were all packed and scheduled for the movers to arrive at 12pm noon for an estimated 2 hour slot. The move was a distance of about 5 miles.Long story short, they arrived 3 hours late. My mother and I had to call twice, once at 12:15pm and another at 1:40pm, each time being told there was a delay. It was frustrating as we were all set to go and weren't informed of the delays until we called them. Our wait time added to the move which eventually took up half the evening.On the bright side, the movers were great and got things done quickly and efficiently when they arrived. They estimated 4 hours instead of 2 for moving, but they were right and made every minute count. They were also careful with all of my heavier items, and I was overall very happy with their service. A minor note would be out of the three movers, the youngest one was the only one who used the restroom and charged his phone in an outlet (both places). It personally didn't bother me, but other customers may not see that as professional.This was my first time moving, so my experience was mixed with Golan's. While the movers themselves were great, the communication about the delays by the business were non-existent unless I took the initiative. I could have hosted a film screening of "Titanic" before they showed up (bad joke).If I had to recommend Golan's for the future, I would be a bit hesitant.

These guys were great. They sent a crew the day before we moved to pack so when they came the day of the move it took them about an hour to load up. We moved into a new house so I was very concerned about scratching walls and floors but they did a prefect job with no damage at all. They came in under the estimate and finished by 2PM, it was great and I would for sure use them again. Highly recommended!

I urge everyone to never use this company.  I will preface by saying I had used their services once to move my 1 bedroom apartment to a single family home.  That experience was amazing.  Based off that experience, I decided to use them again for a local move out of said home into a two bedroom apartment.  The 3 man crew showed up early - GREAT! I love early! - and that's about the best they did.  They were not polite or friendly.  Two of the three men were taking personal phone calls half the time.  The one "mover" moved about as fast as a sloth, and would move ONE box at a time.  ONE. I could (and did) move multiple boxes at a time, just to expedite the process. (WHY did I pay for movers??)  The cherry on the sundae is when they broke my couch trying to get it out of the house - and then told me they could not get it out at all.  Once we got to the apartment, I continued to help unload the truck because they were going SO SLOWLY.  Boxes I had specifically labeled THIS SIDE UP were on the side, or even upside down.  Furniture I had asked to be wrapped somehow still ended up scuffed, and plenty of items were broken.  My only fault in this was not reading the insurance area of the contract very well, so I didn't get good coverage.  However, I didn't think I needed it because of my previous experience.  I am regretting this now.  Although I'm sure I would have to fight tooth and nail through their third party claims department if I were trying to recoup the expense of my lost couch - maybe I'll give it a go but the hassle of it all seems too great.Their manager Julie gave me the runaround.  Their customer service is non-existent.  If you want to lose a ton of money for their overpriced, horrible services, as well as the cost of replacing everything they break - have at it.  I can honestly say using their services was a truly awful and COSTLY experience.

Your review helps others learn about great local businesses.Please don't review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you're connected in any way to the owner or employees.After 38 years in the same place, I decided to move...What a chore!  Buf, Golan Moving made it relatively simple.  On moving day, I just stood back and watched the team of 4 work non stop. .  Estimate higher than the actual cost.  My only problem was that they taped the bottom of my recliner, thus making it not reclineable.  Easily solved.  (That is why I did not give them 5 stars.)  I have already referred friends to Golan.  Professional from the first call to the last box being brought up to my new place.
