We specialize in all types of moves.  We are well known for moving hundreds of families and individuals locally within the Chicago area every month.  Our long distance department is constantly moving people to various locations across the country. Being that moving is a service business; we understand the importance of having good customer service.  Our moving consultants are always available to answer any questions you may have regarding an upcoming move of yours, or to discuss a move you are looking to do.Additional services that we offer include full packing, box delivery before a move, short-term and long-term storage and full valuation. Golan's is a proud member of the Illinois Better Business Bureau, a 5 time Angie's list award winner, a «ProMover» through the American Moving and Storage Association, and a member of the Illinois Movers and Warehousemen's Association.

History

Established in 1990. Golan's opened its doors in 1990 as a small 3 man moving business servicing the Chicago land area.  Through word of mouth the company grew and became too large for the 3 of them to support on their own.  By 1995, their fleet had 5 trucks, a small Skokie office and warehouse, and a team to keep things running daily.Continual growth eventually led to a major administrative facility and a warehouse with the capabilities of housing 1,000,000 cubic feet of storage space.  In the last 3 years, the company has completed over 20,000 transactions.  They currently operate a fleet of 30 trucks between their local and long distance departments.

I used Golan's for a local move where my furniture & boxes were taken into storage for a month in between apartments. The crew was pretty good -- they were an hour late but sent an extra man to make up for it, ended up finishing in under the amount of time they'd estimated, and provided me with print outs for everything. Getting things back out of storage was easy as well - they were on time and set everything up at my apartment. For a day I thought I was missing a box, and Julie was extremely courteous to me over the phone and helped me locate it (turns out it had been placed inside a larger box, and I had it the whole time). The Golan's team made my move quick and easy. I've recommended them to friends with upcoming local moves and will continue to do so!

We have used Golan's several times over the past 20+ years, and they are consistently amazing! On time, efficient to the nth degree, clean/kind movers, and I could go on...This last time was a pretty substantial move and they were competitively priced (if not lower) and the customer care/support was perfect. No idea if you can make requests for a particular mover, but if you can-definitely ask for Terrell (foreman of my move crew)! He is concerned about all of the details and treats his staff with such respect. Don't even waste your time shopping around.PS-not one thing was misplaced or broken (and we had a lot of stuff!)!

I used Golans about a week ago when I was moving into my new place on the Northside. Overall I would give them a 9.4/10 highly recommend especially for their prices! Give them a call if you're looking to move and not have to worry about the process!

Golan's moving is the best. Audi and Larry went above and beyond. When they picked up our furniture and boxes that we had in storage in DC they found that several items were not properly wrapped or not wrapped at all. They made sure to wrap everything thoroughly and even packed some loose items they found. Additionally, they were quick and thorough during delivery. We plan to move again in another year or so and will def call Golan's again.

BEWARE!!! Any positive reviews must have been paid for here as they are HORRIBLE. We are currently dealing with this CON operation and hope that people will STAY AWAY FROM GOLAN'S!!! Like the last negative review we have tried calling several times to locate our boxes after a cross-country move and they still do not say, nor will they call us back as they said they would. They loaded our boxes on June 1 saying they would deliver efficiently for a reasonable quote by our arrival date of June 10 or 11. It is now June 13 and our boxes are either in New Mexico or at a warehouse in Illinois (she wouldn't confirm where) and they are giving themselves a 3-week window so our stuff won't get to us until around the 24th!!! We were also threatened, hung up on and given a quote of 3x the original quote amount before seeing our stuff! I really don't know how they have any positive reviews unless they are paid for by the company itself because they have been only UNETHICAL, LYING, STEALING criminals from the second they left with my family things! We are currently living in an empty home with 3 kids under age 5 and no end in sight to this nightmare. Currently trying to pursue legal claims. AVOID THIS AT ALL COSTS AND PROTECT YOUR FAMILY!
