History

Established in 2001. We created First Class Moving & Storage, Inc. to provide customers with the most stress-free moving experience in the industry. We started started out of a small office and have grown into a full service moving and storage company with approximately 60,000 SF of secure and heated warehouse space in Northbrook. Our business ideals have led us to become an A+ rated company with the Better Business Bureau. We are also members of the American Moving and Storage Association. Our ILCC MC number is 130447. Our ICC MC number is 421937.

Terrible customer service; ignored emails; BEFORE booking move!... First Class Moving and Storage not so "First Class"!Donny N., our "consultant", came over and gave a quote on Mar 7. After that I sent a couple emails with questions and got no response from him. I called the front desk and got answers to some of my questions. (Had the front desk people mentioned he was away, or sick, etc, I would understand, but they didn't). Early this week, nearing getting ready to book the move, I sent him another email and mentioned I don't know why the ones from last week weren't responded to, but I have a few other questions before booking the move with them. Again, no response. If they ignore emails BEFORE you book a move, imagine the support if you have an issue!Today I finally received an email from Donny that said simply they are unable to conduct our move and he's sorry? Extremely unprofessional to ignore a potential customer's emails? No reason was ever given. The Emails had questions such as asking if there is a contract required, can items be stored and cost, etc. Nothing unusual. Stay away!

I don't generally waste time on reviews but this company merits acknowledgement. I dealt with a staff member named Michael who quoted a rate which included three men and a maximum rate. This was a second move with this company so I trusted the information provided. After the men loaded my belongings onto their truck they presented me with a bill (using a credit card) which was 50% higher than what they quoted. I had no option other than providing my credit card as everything was loaded. They billed for four men rather than three quoted, added a couple hundred plus in supplies never quoted or mentioned nor needed: boxes, plastic wrap, tape, etc and held my belongings hostage. I had never received a contract or written confirmation when arrangements were made in spite of Michaels promise that it would be emailed. As it was a second move with no real problem the first time I trusted them. Big mistake. There are many options for movers so save yourself a major headache and go elsewhere!
