I have waited a while to write this review in the hopes that these guys would do the right thing by me.Clearly, I was wrong.Our Boyer Rosene story started in Chicago, IL when I was moving from Chicago to San Diego.  I had a box stolen 5 years prior when moving to Chicago so I was pretty wary of movers in general.  So when planning to move, I must have had at least 30 quotes from various companies.  One of those companies was Boyer Rosene.Let me tell you, Jim Mazzucca is a smooth talker.  The way he talks about your move, he makes you feel like there is nothing in the world that matters more to him than making the customer happy.He acted as if he was going to move heaven and earth to make me happy.  I gave him our dates, and he said it wouldn't work out but he would try to see what he could do.  When I was at the cusp of signing with another he magically made it happen.Unfortunately, the reality of this company does not match what was promised.I take a degree of responsibility for this; there are other reviews here that I should have listened to.  The reason I didn't? I thought that the most recent posts were far enough in the past that this would make a difference.Look; I can't stress this enough.  If you are thinking about moving with Boyer Rosene Bekins, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE think twice!!!  You have been warned.

My pregnant wife and our two-year-old daughter have been living out of a suitcase for a month because of service failure by Boyer-Rosene, Bekins and their parent Wheaton World Wide Moving.  We were upsold by Boyer-Rosene; move your car too and they'll narrow the delivery window.  Our delivery window ended 3 weeks ago. All our possessions are still in a Boyer-Resene warehouse in Chicago because they can't find a truck to a major west-coast city. Our complaints at Boyer-Rosene were bumped up to the Wheaton national Director of Customer Service, Todd Emrick, who has done little more than remind us of the fine print in our contract. Beware. Boyer-Rosene, Bekins and Wheaton are not reliable. Worse yet they are not interested in supporting their customers in the event of an exceptional service failure.

i'm writing this review because i had an awesome experience with this company.  i recently moved from chicago to LA and was terrified to choose a mover.  it seems all reviews are terrible reviews - no matter which company you look into.  anyway - i decided to go with bekin's because they were the only company who actually sent a rep (rich duda) out to assess how many belongings i have and give me a proper quote.  once i signed the contract with them, everything went seamlessly.  the movers arrived early to pack my things - which was all done perfectly.  they stored my belongings for a week and a half until i found an apartment in LA.  i called them, told them my address on a thursday.  monday, claudette called to say she was with the driver (john) and they were loading my things and everything should arrive the following monday.  the driver called me wednesday evening to confirm he was on his way and would indeed deliver monday.  sunday morning i called john to double confirm.  he answered, said he'd be to me between 1 and 3, we were on schedule.  monday morning came and john was calling with an update.  it was 11am and his crew had just finished their first delivery so they would be on their way to me!  they arrived at 12:00, unloaded, set up, and double checked that all boxes were accounted for in one hour's time.  i've never moved cross country before, but i have to say that these guys were very professional, communicative, and frankly - legit.  i hope this review gets them more business because i would def hire them for a big move again.  oh - and what i had been quoted is what i paid.  and i even had two additional large items i ended up taking with me.  i'm a happy customer.  :)

I used them and it was a nightmare.  They make claims about putting plastic down on the floors and walls.  It rained during our move and they tracked in mud and never used any coverings?  They were late arriving by days and never called. We had to call them constantly as we were in a hotel.  They damaged some items and valued them way below the actual cash value.  They talk up their service when they come out and do not deliver.  I wish I would have seen reviews on Yelp before the move

Representative Jim came out and gave us a quote. Very nice man and told us it would "never be more $, only less if it came in underweight ". Day of the move driver tells me you have more boxes than was estimated. I said "what does that mean then?" Driver Ron then rubs his fingers together and says "more money". He then proceeds to yell to his crew"do not start loading anything!!". I'm now a hostage and fully involved in a "bait and switch" situation. 45 minutes later office staff at Boyer-Rosene tells me the difference is going to be $993.00. I tell them what I was told about it would never be more, and that the day of the move I don't have an extra grand to give them. Hello, I like everyone else budgeted for this move. Two more phone calls of them trying to get me to pay more with "would you be willing to split it, and once the truck is loaded can we see how much it weighs and see then?". Are you kidding me??? This a professional moving company? I refused to pay it seeing that it is their job to give accurate quotes not mine. Driver was rude and intimidating to my mother and I, and I worried for four days if my things would arrive safely. Minimal damage was done but I had my husband deal with them once in Detroit. Our move from the Chicago area was somewhat of a hurried surprise and I wish I would have taken the time to read the reviews here. I was naive and went by name and Bekin "in general" reputation. Never again. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT use this company. It made a stressful situation of moving even more horrific with the 12th hr shakedown for more money. There are plenty of other companies out there, and incidentally charge less.
