Established in 1891. This review is solely for the people responsible on the backend at Boyer Rosen. Here is a summary of why they are getting 1 star::1. Russ came to my apartment and quoted me for our move. He gave me a window of dates, the last date being 2 weeks after our stuff would get picked up. I questioned the large time frame and he assured me that it was highly likely that our stuff would arrive on the front end of the window. He also said that stuff almost never arrives on the backend of the window. Trusting what he said, I signed a contract to work with Bekins (Boyer Rosene is a subsidiary of Bekins). 2. Several days before our big move out-of-state, I both called & emailed Russ to confirm our move, as he was my only contact point thus far. The day before our move, still no response. I looked up Boyer Rosene's number and spoke with them. 3. I called Boyer Rosen once we arrived at our new home to find out that we had to wait 2 weeks because our stuff was scheduled to arrive the LAST DAY of the window (2 weeks post move)! 4. I explained to Claudette & Lori (who work behind the scenes coordinating everything) that I was disappointed with the false expectations that Russ set forth. I explained that the dealings came off as a fraudulent sales tactic to close a deal. Even though I knew there was nothing they could do to get our stuff to us any quicker, I was just looking for a genuine apology by simply calling me to say sorry OR shoot, give me a very small discount (I would have been ok with $25...I just wanted a genuine apology). I never got that. 5. I told them I'd be sharing my experience so others can be informed and not make the same mistake I did by trusting the word of the sales guy. I wanted to give them a heads up beforehand so they had the opportunity to make it right somehow. They seemed to care less. Clearly, their reputation & overall customer satisfaction is not their priority. Bekins, you need to find another company to represent you in Chicago. After doing more research on review sites & talking to others, I've learned that I am not the only one who has had this experience with Boyer Rosen. Clearly, it's all about the $$, customer service doesn't even exist. On a positive note, American Moving (based in CO) got a 5 star review from me. They were a breath of fresh air. If you live in CO, they are very professional & genuinely care about their customers. Clearly they know what they are doing because they have an average FIVE star rating on Yelp out of 38 reviews!

We moved from Chicago to Hinsdale last weekend with the help of Boyer-Rosene. The salesman, Jim Mazzuca, crew and the entire experience was fantastic. The movers arrived on time and moved everything carefully and professionally. BR exceeded expectations, I highly recommend them!!

Using Bekins Boyer Rosene for my move was unquestionably the worst customer experience I have ever had. The company missed the outer limit of my already extremely long delivery deadline (over two week window) by a week (..so they had my things for over three weeks), and in the process I was directed to multiple managers who were all unresponsive and dismissive of my questions. They didn't even notify me that the delivery would be late in the first place - I found out the day before because I called to check in after hearing nothing from them for the previous two weeks. Stay away. Listen to all of the other reviewers. Using this company is a huge mistake.

It took them 2 weeks to schedule a visit for an estimate. Mind you, we are talking about 5 boxes, 1 car, and 1 piece of furniture.The funniest part was the quoted amount: $4,000. What was funnier? I asked for the stuff to arrive on a very specific week. These ***** put on the quote that I requested the stuff to be picked up on the day of that specific week. When was it estimated to arrive? On a 15 day window.What am I supposed to do without a car for 15 days until my stuff arrives? Walk?Hell no. Save yourself the pain of dealing with them.

I requested a quote on a small move about a month ago. Got a quote for about 1500. When I called a month later (May 2015) I was then given a quote for about 2900. Yikes. I was counting on getting some family heirloom stuff moved from Woodstock Illinois to Seattle. I asked why the big upper...Anna stated that they moved their minimum move load to 2800 pounds or so right after that quote...my stuff was probably under 500 pounds. I politely requested an honor of the original phone quote. No dice. My policy is to never do business with an outfit that is that cavalier and doubles the price at their discretion. I got the feeling that this outfit is used to dealing with people this way all the time. Then I read some of these other reviews and that confirmed it. I called one of their competitors who offered to move my stuff for about the Boyer-Rosene original quote. Stay away from these turkeys.
