I recently purchased a curio cabinet which was heavy and composed mostly of glass so I decided to hire professional movers to bring it home from Highland Park to my home near the city.  I could have let my son and his friends move the cabinet but it was heirloom quality and I did not want anything to happen to it.  Everything went well and I was in contact with both the seller and the mover the entire time.  About 5 minutes after the mover left with my cabinet in the vehicle, I received a phone call from the owner of the moving company, Jim Gomez.  He contracted out to an individual who was pulled over by the Highland Park police and was taken into custody for driving on a suspended license.  My cabinet was impounded for two days.  The owner of the moving company was mortified that this happened.  He made everything right and did not ask me to pay and arranged at his expense to have my cabinet delivered  two days later at his own expense.  In life things can go wrong, but this company owner knew to make it right.  It was a pleasure to work with him, although at moments we were both frustrated.  I would use them again because he acted professionally given a difficult siutation of which he was entirely unaware.  I will always smile a little when I look at my curio cabinet and remember the series of events that brought the cabinet to my home.

Ironic name. Worst decision I've ever made.   Biggest waste of time. They moved my belongings less than half a mile away. Called me to let me know they'd be 30 mins late when originally scheduled for 12 noon. That was fine. They said there was a situation where their second truck had problems and asked if they could reschedule for 4 pm. Thought I was doing them a favor. HUGE MISTAKE. I make the phone call to them around 5:30 pm to hear them say 'Oh were right outside!' Ok. But when you take 6 hours to move a studio apartment and try charging me over $800 for ruining my entire weekend? Not ok. They took 6 hours! It's unheard of! They didn't leave my new apartment until 12:30am! I told him I wouldn't pay more than $400 and after reading these reviews and shouldn't have payed more than $100. This was the biggest scam. The movers didn't have any tools, a ladder, or even gloves. They used saran wrap around their hands to move my dresser. The step son of Jimmy was polite and nice but the other gentleman was stopping for 5 / 10 minute breaks every trip up or down the stairs. I could have done this job by myself in half the time for no cost at all. These guys ruined my weekend. I'll never do this again. Always schedule your movers at least 3 weeks in advance unless you're moving the first week of September or the last week of August make it a month in advance at least. Please never waste your time with this man named Jimmy. Don't do it.

The move I thought went well, at first. Two guys showed up -- on time, albeit in a U-Haul. The "crew" worked hard but had issues getting the couch out the door but other than that was relatively OK. But when we were billed it was about $150 more than we were quoted. They also left something in the back door of the building and as it turned out, wrecked the back door by messing up the hinges. The landlord of the old building is charging us for the damage to the door. Use these guys and your move will get done, but it will be done in an amateur way.BTW, these guys take cash or check but really prefer cash. No plastic for this company.I also should have disregarded the review by Jim G. The review by Pierangela M. mentions the owner of the company by name, Jim Gomez. Meanwhile, Jim G. has bookmarked this company. You do the math.
