I sure wish I had read these before we used them. I am giving 2 stars because everything did get from one place to the other. But it took longer than it should have - especially the driving - which was still at the $69/hr. rate. We made a few stops along the way - but had someone at the other end to supervise unloading. Turned out that since we only prepaid for 4 hours, they wouldn't start unloading until we paid them additional 2 hours (even though they were only over time by half hour at this point. . (Mind you we had no idea that it would take them so long). This move should have taken more than 4 hours. We paid for 6. No wrapping of TV and mirrors. We should have gotten a true professional company. Unfortunately, the ad promised much more than reality. Don't be taken in by nice ad - he's not the one doing the move.

I would give zero stars if i could have. The movers were extremely late; although they worked hard and as fast as they could have, it took about 3 hours to move furniture from a small 1bdrm apt into another 1bdrm about 2 miles away. But even this is not as problematic. Upon completion of the move, I found that there were several items missing, mainly small boxes of my school books (which total in excess of $200), a few religious crafts, and an ironing board. As soon as I learned of this I contacted the owner and spoke with the movers. They all  denied that anything was left in the truck and  simply refused to acknowledge what had transpired. After repeated inquires they refused to talk to me and would hang up the phone. My next step will be to contact the better business bureau - if they are even listed. I would pay a little bit more and stay away from these people.

I saw their ad in Craiglist, and was intrigued by the enthusiastic claims & low prices. I texted the phone number provided asking if they had availability Wednesday to move some furniture from a Craigslist seller in the city to our house in the SW suburbs. They replied "yes at 7pm." When I texted back if they had availability on Tuesday, they wrote back to "can you call? I don't like to text." So I called and spoke to a very rude man. I informed him that we were available all day Wednesday, and would prefer to move the items during off-peak hours to avoid traffic; if he had availability during the daytime, that'd be ideal. He demanded "What's wrong with 7pm Wednesday?!" I stated that was the Blackhawks playoff game and we would be occupied. He unpatriotically said "ok..." I brought up a couple more dates & times, and he stated he was unavailable during those times. He gruffly suggested I work around the availability of the seller (no kidding!). My patience was wearing thin, but I calmly asked if he had an email address so I could send him some dates & times to see if they would work for his crew. He blurted "I don't use email. I don't text. I conduct all business by phone." I said, ok, I will talk to my husband to figure out another time and call him back. He hung up--no goodbye, no "Look forward to working with you..." He did not even identify himself or his company until I quickly asked for his name, to which he shortly stated "Joe."My final impression: if he doesn't care enough to work with me over the phone, he likely won't give a crap to move my furniture in a careful way. Based on their poor customer service, unprofessional attitude, and other negative online reviews, these people will certainly not be getting my business! I will pay a little more for the peace of mind of a professional moving service.

ABANDONED THE JOB AND STOLE MY BLURAY PLAYER ! ! !What's the worst thing a mover could do?1. Arrive 6 hours late, with the wrong size truck, and leave you in violation of your lease--check.2. Get caught in a storm (that part not their fault, obviously) so LEAVE THE JOB without a word, LEAVING THE DOORS WIDE OPEN AND YOUR BELONGINGS IN THE YARD, IN THE RAIN--check.3. STEAL A BOX OR TWO, because in the chaos, who would notice?--checkAs a result, it was another 3 days for them to finish the job with two other teams of workers. That's 7 men and 3 trucks, if you are counting! (Not to mention 2 angry landlords.) That also means that I needed accommodations for 3 nights for 2 adults and a 90 lb dog--all starting at 1am on move-day. Thanks, "2" men--you took a stressful situation and made it a whole lot worse!!!!

Beware of this company! Their ads on Craigslist (and there are many) state that "We are different." Hmm, yeah, 'different' in a bad way. Here's why...I called this alleged moving company Saturday evening (7:30 pm) to schedule a Sunday afternoon move at 4:00 pm (the next day) in the city of Chicago. I was told that two guys would be there with a truck and they would call me before they arrived. I had a fairly easy move from a first floor apartment to a storage facility a couple miles away. It was only a two hour job and did not involve any large or heavy items (no sofa's, appliances, dining room tables, beds, etc.).Well, four o'clock came and went without so much as a phone call so I called "Larry" whom I had spoken to initially when I made the moving arrangements. He told me that the guys were running late so I asked that they come at 5:30 pm instead. Now it's 6:00 pm and I called "Larry' again who tells me that the guys are on their way and that they're stuck in traffic. I'm wondering at this point if they are driving in from Indiana since they are taking so damn long and are already two hours late. Seven o'clock rolls around and still, no phone call and no movers. I figured by 8:00 pm these guys aren't coming and I had to drive to the south suburbs anyway. Sunday was my planned moving day and now I'm scrambling to find someone else who can move me this week after work. Incredibly unprofessional to schedule a job, make excuses and then not even call or show up! If you're looking for dependable movers, do not call 2 Guys & A Truck!
