I've had great experiences on Craigslist. This is why I decide to call the movers who always appear in my "West Elm" search results when it came time for me to move at the end of this month.I kept trying to convince myself that this is NOT a moving nightmare, as it grew later and later past my estimated move time.  The move was scheduled for 1 p.m. with a one hour window.  The movers didn't show up until 6.  Unreal.  And to quote their listing, "we never provide false time estimates."The guy called at 12:30 to tell me he'd be on the way about 2. I called at 1:57  to let him know I was with the cable guy at the new place and that I didn't want to miss him. (Ha! If I knew at 2 o'clock what I now know.) He said he was still on another job and he'd be another 40 minutes. Three o'clock rolls around. My boyfriend makes a few back and forths in the car lugging over perishables and breakables.  He calls the movers several times for me so that I can rest. They don't pick up once.We head back over to the old apartment and I call back about 4:00.  He tells me, "Honestly, we're looking at about another hour, hour and a half."  Little did I know then that he really meant two hours. We wait and wait and wait. At 5:30 he calls and tells us he's at an intersection about 2 1/2 miles directly north of our place. He doesn't get there until just past 6. They didn't use dollies.  They were exhausted by that time so I don't believe they exercised care with our belongings.  The truck was a smaller one, so not only were they 5 hours late, but they had to make two trips! By the time they got to the through the 2nd unload, they were practically throwing our boxes down.  What I really didn't like were the grunting and sighing and "listen to how tired we are" noises. What am I supposed to do about that?  They weren't done until after 9. They worked hard and yes, it was a long day for them.  But, I can't deal with a company who "just wants to get this over with", which was exactly their attitude--from the second they walked in the door to to the time the set the last box down. This was an awful awful awful experience.  Oh, and they had the nerve to charge tax! I'm so sure these guys are filling out the 1040s at the end of the year.
