Like many nightmare stories I have heard about moving companies, this company is absolutely NO exception.  Following my father's death, I needed to move some of his belongings from California to New York.  Being distraught and having little time to pack and arrange the move, I did a quick search of this company on the internet and uncovered no reviews-- which in some cases is a good sign, but in this case was a VERY BAD decision on my part. The move was relatively small-- 10 boxes and a few other small items.  During my initial conversations with the sales representative, I provided her with an initial inventory of items and was quoted a "not to exceed price" of $1,500 --provided my inventory did not increase and I did not require the movers to pack or provide packing material for any of the items.  I was also told that if if the inventory decreased, the price would be adjusted downwards to reflect this. I was promised that "unlike other moving companies," this company stuck by their pricing, and did not have hidden fees.  I was promised door-to-door pick up and delivery without hassle on a date convenient to me.  The sales representative told me that she would contact me one day prior to the move to confirm my final inventory and final pricing.  This did not happen.  Having not received a call back, I attempted to call the company NUMEROUS times to confirm my final inventory (which had substantially decreased) and pricing.  Each time I was placed directly into voicemail, left several messages and received NO return phone call. FINALLY, I received a call from the mover himself to confirm a pick up time. When I told him I could not reach the company for a final inventory and pricing, he advised that their phones were down but that he would take care of all of that on the day of the move.  When the mover arrived, he quoted me a price of $2,300. OMG!!!  When I told him I was given a "not to exceed" price of $1,500 by the sales person for a larger inventory, he told me that "sales people are just that ... sales people" and don't have a say or knowledge of the pricing.  So, basically everything I was told by the sales person proved to be untrue (except that I was charged the EXORBITANT price of $150.00 for a TV box).  The mover told me either accept the new price or find another company.  Given my time constraints, I unfortunately did not have the time to try to find another company and had to accept this increased price. Here's where this company gets even sketchier... Once my items reached New York, another moving company contacted me to schedule the actual delivery FOR THE EXTRA COST of $300 CASH. When I contacted All American Troopers to dispute this cost, I was told that they considered my contract "closed" on their end and that I would have to deal directly with this other moving company (their third party vendor) to get my stuff.  I was told to try to "make a deal" with these third-party movers if I didn't want to pay the full $300.  The other option given was to rent a van/UHaul and pick up the items myself from their yard in Brooklyn (I live in Westchester).  WHAT?!  When I called the second movers (on a Friday afternoon) to inquire into picking up the items myself, a very rude gentleman (with what sounded to me like a Russian accent) told me I must pay $300 CASH or come get the items that Sunday by no later than 8 am.  I was also told I would have to pay an extra fee to move the items off of their truck onto my UHaul/van.  Left with no real alternative -- other than to have my items held hostage-- I reluctantly agreed to pay this $300. When these second movers finally arrived, they demanded $600 cash ONLY to release and unload my items from the truck.  I was so upset but felt I had no other choice but to AGAIN agree to this added cost.  Once I paid them the cash, they unloaded the belongings BUT not without doing A LOT of damage to my home.  Specifically, when they moved a mattress & box spring to the top floor of my townhouse, they knocked a mirror off the wall, tore a light fixture out of the wall, damaged my wooden banister, left scuff marks on my newly painted walls and tracked dirt all over the carpet.  They failed to unwrap any of the items or re-assemble any of the items broken down by the first movers (as was promised by All American Troopers when I signed the contract). All in all, this moving company made an already difficult move even more difficult.  They didn't live up to ANY of their promises, and are truly one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. I highly recommend looking into another company if you are going to do a cross-country move.
