After reading the only other 2 reviews on this companies Yelp page, I was REALLY worried about using them. I had originally come across this business because I found a coupon for them with a great moving special. So in reading about them on Yelp, I did find Chad's review quite accurate in his description of the 'hidden fees' this company has. But because I went into it with full knowledge I was able to avoid most of the frustrations, I paid in cash to be able to avoid the rather annoying extra $25 you would have to front if you paid with a credit card. But I was unable to avoid the extra $30 you spend on Saran wrap! I really hate that they charge you for that. Other than those two complaints, I was thoroughly satisfied with this company, the 2 gentleman that arrived were on time and very polite and helpful (which was refreshing, given that it was the hottest day of the year at 118 degrees). I wanted to make sure that I didn't go over 2 hours because that would jack up the price. They made sure to have everything complete within and hour and 40 minutes. I would definitely use this company again because it was in fact way cheaper than my last moving company and they did a great job.

I called them on a Thursday asking them to move my 1700 sq ft home on the following Tuesday. The man was nice, explained to me the charges (4 men and a truck for $69.99 I had an ad in ValuPak) plus a $25 fee for saran wrap. He told me a lady would call me back the next day with more information. I said okay. The next day I did not get a call so I called them and just confirmed everything was okay and they would arrive on my moving day. After confirming my cross streets the lady told me, "Oh I'm so sorry I didn't call you, Yes, everything is scheduled for your move and they will be there on Tuesday between 9-10am." So, I get everything ready, everything is packed, I got rid of my couches since I was not planning on moving them anyway and we are all sitting on the floor (including my two small children) waiting for them to arrive (yes, I realize this is not their fault but it adds to the annoyance factor) 10:10am arrives and they are still not there. So I call and ask, she confirms my name and cross streets again and tells me they will be here ANY minute. I say, Okay, no problem. 11am rolls around and they STILL have not arrived. I call again..."Are you guys planning on coming today? We are waiting for you to arrive" She says, "Oh, I don't have you scheduled, I think you called A to Z movers not us and are confused." I said, I confirmed it with you! And she says, "Oh no, your name is similar to someone else we are moving so I thought that was you. If you didn't get a confirmation number then you aren't on the schedule" So, apparently I am supposed to KNOW this? And for the record I DO NOT have a common last name. But apparently someone has a similar name to mine and also lives at the same cross streets ? We were selling our house on that coming thursday which means I had exactly ONE day to find a mover or do it myself. LUCKILY, we were able to find a mover to move us in the time frame we needed called Just In Time moving. They were awesome and I recommend that company over Valley Wide Moving any day of the week.Summary, they are very unorganized and in a timely business like moving, that is one shortcoming that cannot be forgiven.

honestly, Caroline, the owner, was extremely rude. She didnt listen to anything I had to say. I wouldnt do business with somebody who doesnt listen to her customers. She will hang up on you.

Mixed review They were 2 hours late due to another truck "needing" a jump start. Was not expecting the charge for shrink wrap, but ok, rather pay for it than have my belongings damaged. 4 bedroom house that has previously always been completed in 3 hours from further distance. Total move was $200 more than I expected, but reading the other reviews now I know that was due to me having them move my 2 TV's which they tried to get me to do myself. One chair was damaged in the move. On the fence if I would use them again as I think I would opt to not use the coupon for $50 for 3 men, and instead pay the flat rate with no "extra" fees as I would have saved money NOT using their advertised coupons. Tipped $60 as I don't believe it's the workers fault and they were very professional and respectful

*I wrote this review in 2013. When i clicked :"write a review" just now yelp asked me if i wanted to "finish my review," providing me with the complete review that you'll see below. I thought I had finished and posted this in 2013! Anyway, as I re-read my review & I remembered the nightmare that was delivered to me, courtesy of this company, I felt strongly that sharing my experience might help someone else avoid a similar experience. Yelp will probably bury it anyway. I am pregnant & didn't want to impose on friends to move me. After calling around & receiving an emailed quote, claiming that, with the $69.99/hr flat rate there would be "NO ADDITIONAL CHARGES WHATSOEVER," I chose Valleywide Moving Company to move my 2bdrm condo to my new home (about 15miles away.)When soliciting the quote for my move, I informed the woman (who speaks with a strong accent) that I was moving from a 2-story condo, with a front door that was up a half a flight of stairs. I asked her if I had to break down and wrap my bedroom set, to which she assured me I would not have to lift a finger. She responded to my request for a quote with an email advising me of their ala carte menu (that charged individual set fees for fuel, mileage, stairs, furniture breakdown, etc.) but recommending their $69.99/hr Flat-Rate for the move I was describing. The flat-rate price assured me of no additional charges whatsoever, according to her email. The movers were scheduled for 9-10 on Saturday morning, but I received a call asking me to reschedule to 8-9am arrival. Great. Earlier is better, i thought. On Saturday - at 1:30PM (!) - an older, not-brawny looking man with a limited capacity for American English arrived, accompanied by a younger man, who appeared to be less than eager to exert himself in any way, let alone a move that included him having to lift and carry furniture up and down a flight and a half of stairs.Immediately upon entering my condo, the older gentleman began complaining about the job. He seemed to be trying to communicate that I would have to pay more than what I had agreed to.The job was too large for just the two of them, he said. They'd have to have more help. (perhaps he didn't realize that more men would get the job done all that much quicker, which would, ultimately, result in my paying less at the end of the day, if, indeed, the written promise of no additional charges whatsoever was true.)BULLET POINTS:* pregnant* requested quote 4 move incl. 1.5 flights of stairs & furniture:brkdwn+setup* rec'd ala carte list of charges & flat-rate, hourly quote (recommended4my job)* accepted flat $69.99/hr based on their written promise "no hidden charges whatsoever"* 2movers arrived 4.5 hours late.* 1st words from them re more money "whatever quote or promise U received in writing was from the owner, not from us (the movers)" * i called the company, the movers went2truck; i assumed they were going2wait for the outcome of my telephone conversation and/or have their own discussion w/ofc on the fone.* the truck pulled away.* the woman on the phone put me on hold as she called her crew.(at this point i assumed they were turning the truck around or something)* she came back on the line, reporting that she was unable to reach them & she'd continue trying & call me with an update.* i called her later, only to be told that she hadn't been able to reach them.Long story short, this company refused to provide the service that they had been hired to provide. Not only did they not help ease the stress level for their customer, they added to & increased that stress level to a seriously dangerous level, given my delicate condition. The stress that was caused solely by my dealing with this company could have put my life and the life of my unborn baby at risk. And it was all because they didn't want to work, and they didn't want to honor their written promise of "no additional charges whatsoever."No alternate solution was offered by their office. My last conversation with the heavily accented woman on the phone (when i called her, after not hearing back regarding the status of the disappeared movers) ended with another promise from her to call me as soon as she was able to reach her crew.....maybe she's still trying to reach them. gosh, i hope they're okay.(my friends helped my husband move our stuff the next day. thanks for nothing, valleywide moving)
