E & M Delivery

Amateur night. We bought a consignment outdoor table with 6 chairs at Turnstyle in Scottadale. They referred/recommended E and M Movers and got a quote for $85 to deliver. Turnstyle added the $85 delivery fee to the total, so I paid for the service in advance. E and M did a good job with follow up and were able to deliver the table and chairs the next day between 10-Noon. Three workers arrived, our outdoor furniture was the only thing in the truck! It was a large truck. These were NOT experienced movers. While 2 of the movers figured out how to tilt the table thru the gate, a third hyper mover began hurredly removing tiles from the table. I did not notice where he was stacking them. I was with the table movers and situating the table. Next I knew I turned around to see the 3rd mover coming into the courtyard with all 15 of these large tiles stacked like pancakes on the one last chair. Needless to say, all tiles crashed thru the open hole in the "back" of the chair when the 3rd mover had to awkwardly set the heavy-load he created and chose to move quickly down. Miraculously only 2 of the tiles were broken, one in a clean cut and one into several tiny pieces on two corners. Once the lead "mover" was able to contact his office to "see what they could do" I was left with tahese options: them taking the table and repairing the tiles themselves; going to get crazy glue and they'd do the gluing on the spot, giving me $35 off the delivery fee which I personally have to collect from Turnstyle who collected the money. E and M Movers were unwilling to waive the ENTIRE fee; they would buy the table and chairs from me?; and ultimately said they would "just take the table back to Turnstyle, that's all they could do." We really like the table which is why we bought it in the first place so I opted to keep the table and do the gluing myself. I just wanted them to leave the property entirely when the mover who made this decision in the first place was back iand forth, in and out of the truck, and was discovered handling one of the broken tiles-- trying to tape it together with packing tape on the back side!! You tell me if this is a crew you want handling your breakables, or any furniture for that matter. Next time I'll arrange my own moving company; do not trust the E and M Movers that Turnstyle is using.

Be careful hiring these guys. They are a scrappy bunch. They were moving someone in to the same building as my movers. We had the elevator reserved and reserved the actual move out with the building manager. When we asked them to move their truck forward, they refused and got verbally abusive. They also delayed my movers for an hour while the used the elevator I reserved and paid for. Not good for their business for sure. I own a real estate company and refer a LOT of business to movers. Not E&M for sure.
