We contracted Allied Van lines to move us from Washington state to Arizona in December of 2015. A good 80 % of our belongings were held in storage with Berger Transfer and Storage while we house hunted. When we did finally move in April 2016 to our current home we had Berger deliver the remaining of our household goods.A brief summary; many of the items delivered were damaged and several items were missing. I contacted Berger transfer and storage who provide a very small sum to offset the damages that did not cover the repairs or replacement of the severely damaged items. One chest had missing legs, apart at the seams and broken in half, wash machine scratched with rust marks, the dryer was dented, scratched and front panel loose and unable to reattach, solid oak entertainment center was chipped in several places and the deep freezer was scratched and dented. The missing items from our move were referred back to Allied movers where the real fun began. Missing item include;original art work, boxes of pans, and a dirt bike. After many phone calls, emails they denied responsibility citing no proof of missing items although these items were written on the household descriptive sheet. We elected to go to arbitration, where the mediator only read our responses and did not look at the entire case, did not read the household descriptive sheet, including the fact we paid extra for liability insurance. In short DO NOT USE ALLIED VAN LINES AND PLEASE ASK BBB REVOKE ITS ACCREDITATION of ALLIED VAN LINES and OF ALL ITS AGENTS NATIONWIDE.

Too early to review. They still have my stuff! They have had it a full week for a 400 mile move! Was told by the driver last Friday the truck broke down. Also on Friday, Berger Main office told me I'd get delivery today Monday. Between 9 and 11. At 1:30, I was told the truck broke down. And they didn't know where!!!!1) since the driver told me on Friday the truck broke down, by Monday, a TRANSPORT COMPANY should find a way to repair or replace so goods can be delivered (and not use the break down excuse). 2) Since customer was promised delivery On Monday between 9 and 11 am, it shouldn't be left to the customer to tell said TRANSPORT COMPANY that nothing showed 3). Same TRANSPORT COMPANY needs MUCH better communications! after word of no show, office promised update by end of day. Did it come? Of course not. Will advise what happens.

Whatever you do, don't let these people pack your house. Our loaders and unloaders were awesome, but the packers were abysmal. FIrst, of all, they didn't bother sending anyone to inventory the house. The person who was supposed to be there called and did the inventory on the phone. My husband and I have moved six times, so we knew how much stuff we had. We told them it would take two days to pack. The packers showed up on Monday morning and were immediately pissed off because in spite of what we told them, they were assuming they could do it in one day. It got even worse from there because the guy driving the truck with the boxes and paper didn't show up until three hours later (even though he started out before them). There were five people in the packing crew, including the crew leader's wife, who had apparently never packed anyone before. To give you an idea how useless she was, she didn't have a knife with her, so she helped herself to one of my steak knives to cut the corners of the boxes. They weren't done on the first day, so they left early so they could "buy underwear and stuff" so they could spend the night at a motel. The next day, it was obvious they just wanted to get out of there. They asked questions like "do you want the bathrooms packed?" The wife packed my bathroom, and she threw everything from my cabinet into a box as unpackable. I expected to find things like cough syrup in there, but she put in brushes, combs, ibuprofen. Ridiculous. As they were leaving, we asked them to leave boxes so we could pack up items they'd left unpacked. One guy left boxes; another went through and picked them all up. That made it hard because they had used all the boxes I had bought myself while they were waiting for the truck driver to get there. Since it was an hour's drive to get more boxes and we were exhausted, we didn't go get more. After the truck was packed, my husband got no fewer than five calls asking him to rate the packing crew. He said he couldn't answer until we unpacked the boxes. They stopped calling after our stuff was delivered. When our items were delivered (that crew was great), we were in for a huge shock. Masses of stuff was dumped into boxes and sealed up...no paper, no anything. To say that they had zero respect for our household goods would be a huge understatement. I had a Stetson straw hat I bought in Tombstone, Arizona. It was smashed into the top of a box before it was sealed up. Our washing machine wasn't bolted, lamps were thrown into boxes on their sides with no protection. I have cried over and over as I opened boxes. As I said, my husband and I have moved a lot because of his work. This is BY FAR the worst move we have had. Not only would I not recommend Berger Allied to pack your home, I would tell you to run as far away as you can.
